There's a vast difference between Liger, somebody who isn't much more than a novelty pop in the NJPW hierarchy to pop up once on WWE programming for a nice little novelty match where he went over, and somebody like Omega. Liger's royalty near the end of his run, who is mostly lower card nostalgia at home but a big deal everywhere else. Can't imagine Gedo/Tana/Nagata fancying the idea of allowing existing top drawing cards who are instrumental in their getting teeth into some of the US market to have any kind of presence for the kings of that market.
