Kebab and Chips IS a chippy tea, except for when it comes in a naan bread then in which case it isn't. Ask any other city slicker and they'll tell you the same. I will die on this hill.

Who the fuck is serving a kebab in naan at all, regardless of the shop?

Most kebab places offer that now but pitta is the correct choice. Saying that though, Pete’s Pizza in Stretford do a lovely doner and chicken tikka in garlic naan.

Die away on that hill sunshine. A proper Chippy doesnt sell kebabs. kebab houses do sell fish and chips often. The two are separate business ventures.

B2E for me cheers.

You could class every chippy in the West Midlands the same way then as every one of them has at least one thick leg of kebab slowly rotating in the background. We got into this same argument a while back.

I'm considering going out and getting fish and chips just so I can take a picture of it and attempt to save this thread.

Apologies if this is old ground but what's the opinion on getting cheesy chips as part of a chippy tea? I'm a recent convert but every time I order it I feel a secret shame, like I'm letting down the traditional chippy tea

Thread's dead, baby. Thread's dead.

That’s what happens. Kebabs are fine in the chippy tea but Bacon isn’t.

B16D was my order of choice for ages because the novelty of being able to get Iron Bru was enough to convince me it went perfect with “fish n chips n curry sauce” which I can’t imagine ever uttering as an unbroken fragment, the idea of getting chips without one or both of the fish or the curry seems utterly pointless to me in my twilight years.

Revisited Barnacles in Llandudno at the weekend, photos are crap but food was excellent. Cod each (!) large chips, curry sauce, scampi and gravy just because bird wanted to try it. I don’t really trust gravy that isn’t my mothers but this was ok.

I’ve never seen one before, no-one has, but I’m guessing it’s a White Hole.

I walked. 8 miles just so I could justify eating this tonight. Medium Cod and Chips, £6.40 mid week special, salt & vinegar, no gravy. Fish n Chick’n in Basildon. Was amazing
