You only need to say sorry to yourself for missing out on the chance of maximum points. How come you're lucky enough that you only seem to forget during rounds when there are more Sunday matches than Saturday ones? Your Valladolid pick is void, by the way.

No idea! And no worries. I’ll have to resort to the old “notes on hand” method for next week.

Best of luck with that. You might have trouble for the next 3 rounds because they consist of two double weeks followed by a 'bumper' round. Bit of housekeeping needed here:

Week 20 will include Boxing Day matches, which falls on a Wednesday this year. That's not ideal according to our usual schedule but it'd be a shame to miss them out. The update for that round will be posted later than usual. There's also the complication of not knowing one half of the line-up for the Club World Cup final yet, but let's not kid ourselves about the likely winners of the second semi.

Week 21 will cover the following weekend plus New Year's Day. There'll be a D2D among the latter set of 10 in order to give people as much time as possible to bet on it.

Week 22 encompasses the last 64 of the English and French Cups and is currently pencilled in as consisting of 32 (!) fixtures.

Things then go back to normal for two and a bit months until we hit the last international break of the season, which is when the last lot of FPL Cup group stage games will be decided.

As for the week just gone – the results are in the opening post and the tables have been updated. The biggest scorers are all in mid-table in the main competition, so there was little significant movement. Rory is now 3 points adrift at the bottom, whilst Briefcase still leads by 7 despite being joint worst performer alongside two of his closest challengers. Shy Dad and Grecian's foray into double figures saw them progress from Group A in the Cup, with ultimo and Briefcase also wrapping up progression to the knockout stages. Group B isn't done and dusted yet, but Stinky Dad is through to the next round with a game to spare and two newcomers are now out.

Among the scorelines, the two Aussie ones weren't much cop, but away wins in two very different types of five-goal thriller in Spain were at least generally good for one-pointers. Closer to home, a victory on the road for Chelsea proved fruitful, but a lot of the other 5 outcomes caught most people cold. The average score was precisely 7 points, which is actually slightly up from the previous round.
