From a different angle, Eddy Guerrero turning heel on Tajiri could be said to be the worst heel turn ever, because it simply wasn't successful. The crowd just weren't having it, cheering him whenever he appeared. Throughout the entire promo he cut the next show where he apologised for a having a quick temper (having slammed Tajiri into a car windscreen), which you could tell was supposed to be the first step in a gradual turn, they were just cheering and chanting for him. The next week, they aborted the turn and kept him face.

Going off topic a bit but Eddie going heel reminded me of him being an utter arse at ECW One Night Stand. A night when everyone dropped their characters to celebrate and enjoy ECW and he's still living up to his WWE "I'm Your Papi" gimmick looking like he didn't want to be there.

Yeah, he didn't believe in that at all. Thought there was no way he should be smiling and a happy figure of nostalgia when he'd just turned mega heel on Rey, and hated that he was booked to lose when the story was him feeling inferior about losing specifically to Rey. As soon as his nose gets busted in that match, he mentally quits, and stormed out as soon as the match was over. He was supposed to be out there at the end of the night in the big ECW Vs. WWE brawl, but had already left for the night.

That turn in general is interesting, in that the execution was all-time great (his promos were incredible), but the conception was shaky since nobody wanted to boo him.
