Probably means nothing to anyone but longtime BritWres fans but for me, MK McKinnan. Having never seen a fight club pro show I was told forever that he was the guy they had most likely of making waves nationally. Then I saw him wrestle and it was a woeful level of "is that it?"

That's a great shout. He was someone who was raved about on here but when you saw him he was utterly woeful. His match with Marty Scurll on the first Liger show for Rev Pro was shite.Ā

I'm sure my old EWR fed main event sceneĀ from my youth is full of candidates. Sean 'Hare, Mark Jindrak, York and Matthews and as mentioned above Nick Dinsmore andĀ Rob Conway.

Palumbo as well.

That was the first time I saw him - hyped up as "The Future Of British Wrestling", and then out comes this chubby kid for the dullest match on the card against a pre-villain Scurll. Only seen him a couple of times since, and genuinely can't remember a single thing he did in any of those matches.

I remember that match live, it absolutely sucked. It came out like he was God's gift to wrestling.

Mine is a sort of "Superstar till I saw a photo of you, then a Superstar again when I saw you wrestle!", but bare in mind I have only ever been to 4 UK indy shows...

It was Tyler Bate and Pete Dunne. I had heard they were these game changing names from the UK that were going to take the US by storm, so I googled them. The images I saw deflated me beyond belief. I couldn't see how they would ever be successful in the US looking like they did(both well under 6ft, pasty white skin and a dodgy porn tasche).

But when I actually saw them wrestle, well I was blown away and realised just how wide of the mark I'd been...

If we're going down that route, the prime candidate for this topic has to be Kriss Sprules. Had amazing stats in the game, one of the first people you should sign, and then: that OPWO match, "The Big'Un In Wigan".

Was he pals with Adam Ryland or something? Pretty sure there was a gimmick available in the game based on Sprules as well.

Yeah, that's what I heard. The gimmick was something like "pinnacle of evolution" or "genetically engineered in a lab" or something - a good gimmick in itself, just not in the hands of Sprules.

I don't think he was even friends with Ryland, just managed to talk his way into the game, at a one point when it was far more conceivable that someone could have been a great wrestler while having no footage available of them.

I remember Sprules explaining that gimmick, saying that it had to be added because his gimmick was so unique and different - and it literally boiled down to, "he's an arrogant heel who thinks he's better than everyone else". Yeah, unheard of, mate.

Shane Douglas, RavenĀ the aforementioned Tommy Dreamer and Sabu (who I pronounced as Say-boo) all from Mick Foley's descriptions of them in Have a Nice Day and various articles in PS during the late 90's/early 2000's.

I always thought Raven looked the part but for some reason when I first heard his voice it just didn't match what I thought it would be from the photos I had seen in Powerslam.

The guy that did the commentary on that video is one of my best friends, bloody hilarious.
