Paid Members theironshake Posted September 22, 2018 Paid Members Share Posted September 22, 2018 Oh No. Love Chas and Dave! I had a few chats with him on Facebook over the years. Top bloke. Also there at the start of British Rock N Roll with Joe Meek.

Paid Members Jazzy G Posted September 22, 2018 Paid Members Share Posted September 22, 2018 They played on that song that got sampled for "My Name Is"by Eminem as well. Brilliant musicians. Saw them live about 15 years ago and it was a thoroughly entertaining evening.
Paid Members Gus Mears Posted September 22, 2018 Author Paid Members Share Posted September 22, 2018 This one has hurt. Really wanted to see them perform live and the Xmas Knees up is on religiously at Christmas in my house.
Paid Members Sergio Mendacious Posted September 22, 2018 Paid Members Share Posted September 22, 2018 I’m in pieces over this, quite honestly. I’ll never get to see them live. Ain’t no pleasin’ you is my most listened to song of all time.

Paid Members Hannibal Scorch Posted September 23, 2018 Paid Members Share Posted September 23, 2018 I feel sorry for you to have never seen them live. Chas and Dave were among the greatest live acts I’ve ever seen. Up there with Prince. I’ve never been to a gig which was as fun. Truly gutter Chas has gone
Awards Moderator Onyx2 Posted September 24, 2018 Awards Moderator Share Posted September 24, 2018 In tribute Word podcast have published a terrific interview from 2012 which covers pretty much all of Chas's career: http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/WordPodcast/~5/rsfecfhhhmk/laxman-20180923035534-8447.mp3 Contains impromptu performance of UKFF favourite "Ain't No Pleasing You"Â
Paid Members BomberPat Posted September 24, 2018 Paid Members Share Posted September 24, 2018 Chas & Dave were superb. A couple of my mates supported them a few times, and played right before them at Latitude. Chas had recently got sober, and would just give them his rider every gig. Always seemed like a top bloke. Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted September 24, 2018 Paid Members Share Posted September 24, 2018 Yeah, obviously really sad about this with Aliens being my favourite film. His was a great example how to make a small role really memorable, something you could say about so much of the support cast on Aliens.
