Fanny Pack
Hogan... more lovable than Warrior Austin... made more hairs stand up on the back of my neck than Rock Shawn... so much more of a character than Bret Cena... more longevity than Punk with more memories Heenan... funnier than Jesse but not by much WWF... brainwashed as a kid to hate WCW Cool topic! NoUseforaUsername
Idk who I'd pick out of Austin or Rock, but they were night and day when it came to how they'd do business. Austin almost never jobbed, and when he did, he would usually get his heat back immediately. I think it's here a lot of people said creative went downhill when he returned to stunning the entire locker room every week in 2000. Of course, he refused to do business with Jeff Jarrett and Brock Lesnar. Compare that to The Rock, who jobbed to anyone and everyone, and made them look effective in the process. It always puzzled me how he never got a remotely clean win over Mick in the build up to WM 1999 to make him look like he was near Austin's level. zep81
Warrior. Was one of my first favorites as a kid. He was just so vibrant that I immediately took to him and was elated when he beat Hogan. Austin. He was like a breath of fresh air when he finally became 'Stone Cold'' and was the catalyst for me for the WWF getting exciting again. Bret. My favourite wrestler. He and Warrior were the first two that I immediately gravitated towards when I properly started watching WWF. Was taken by his look and soon enough by how great he was. Punk. Cena has an excellent catalog of matches despite me hating his character but Punk had the character and left us with some great matches too. His heel run with Heyman is still a big highlight of modern WWE. Heenan. Well, I could just say 'Royal Rumble 1992' but he was much more than that. He was one of the greatest managers to boot too and another personality who was a big part of my childhood WWF. I started watching in the late 80's and watched all through the 90's. Never really watched WCW bar the odd Nitro in the late 90's. Was always a 'WWF' guy.

Heenan or Ventura? WCW or WWF? You lovely horrible twat: Hogan, purely because he was my first. Rock/Austin - hardest one. Austin, ahhhhhhh, yeah, only just, prick. Bret/Shawn - 95-97 Shawn because I saw it unfold. Bret didn’t unfold, he was just there come 93. The aftermath I’d say Bret (as I watched it unfold) before he fucked off, however looking back at ‘everything’, I’d say HBK. Heenan- I loved Jesse, but there’s no match to bobby. WWF - behave Edit - missed Cena vs... Yeah, Cena. (Was that really the best alternative?)
UK Kat Von D
Hogan: because wrestling wouldn't be the same without him. Austin: he is wrestling through and through, where as Rock was too good for wrestling. Not in a snooty way, he just genuinely was too talented to be involved in wrestling which is why he is now one of the biggest stars in the Hollywood. Austin is one of the peaks of wrestling, Rock is one of the peaks of entertainment who made his name by starting off wrestling. Shawn: because I'll always pick a druggy prick over a clean cut bore. Punk: because Punk is Punk. Ventura: believes 9/11 was an inside job. He has my vote. WWF: it's what got me into wrestling and I only watched WCW after it folded. Hogan - Wins the battle of the racists because his bullshit is staggering, although I did cheer like fuck when Warrior beat him Rock - Hasn't been done for Domestic violence so wins by default Shawn - Bret is too much a moody prick Cena - Never took to Punk but he seems like a cool guy, Cena is just ace though Heenan - Because Heenan WWF - First one I saw and loved. NoUseforaUsername
Remember when CM Punk was on the offensive towards somebody because of domestic violence and sucking up to Steve Austin at the same time. Such a hypocrite.
Paid Members Arch Stanton Posted October 26, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted October 26, 2017 Hogan or Warrior? Hogan. I always liked the Woya, but Hulk stood the test of time. The business wouldn't be what it is without him. Rock or Austin? Austin. My all-time favourite. To this day he's still keeping me entertained every week. Bret or Shawn? Shawn. I never really took to Bret and only really appreciated how good he was after he was done. Shawn was never my favourite character but for a number of years he was probably my favourite in-ring performer. He didn't know how to have a bad match. Cena or Punk? Cena. Because I really dislike Punk. Heenan or Ventura? Bobby. It's been said a lot in recent weeks, but he really was one of the best all-round performers the business ever saw. He wasn't just funny by wrestling standards, he was funny by any standard. WCW or WWF? WWF. It has to be, I wouldn't still be a wrestling fan today if not for them. Briefcase
Hogan or Warrior? Hogan - Hogan to me put WWF on the map and was the first real superstar. Rock or Austin? Rock - Its a tough one but loved The Rock both as face & heel. Austin is the best babyface though. Bret or Shawn? Shawn - Was late to WWE so almost wins by default really. Cena or Punk? Cena - Not a fan of either to be honest but Cena to his credit could put on a good match and has had some excellent work down the years. WCW or WWF? WWF - Got me into wrestling, never really watched WCW back in the day.
Rosler28
Warrior as a child he got me into wrestling to start with, the colour, the tassles, face paint, he seemed like the ultimate superhero. So as a childhood favourite I always preferred him to Hogan. Rock because hes so cool, you could listen to him talk during a promo and not get bored, he had you paying attention to every word. Shawn Michaels as he was the pure package, technically gifted, great seller, good baby face and heel, high flyer, could adapt to any style and could have a great match with any one and make it watchable. And I think he has a greater personality than Bret so that's why id choose him as the better even though as a kid I hated him and preferred Bret. John Cena, the guy has improved so much over the years, he rides the criticism and it pushes him to exceed. His match with Aj Styles at Royal Rumble is match of the year in my opinion. I think Punk was a flash in the pan. If Punk hadn't got upset and ran home maybe he could have reached Cenas level and right now hed be the man instead of Roman Reigns. Bobby Heenan, without a shadow of a doubt, funny, full of personality, charisma levels were sky high, great talker, put over the faces. wcw because we didn't have sky as a kid, had to buy wwf videos to watch wwf. wcw was on itv and easily accessible so saw that more growing up. Such a hypocrite. Anyone involved with domestic violence instantly earns my disrespect. When Keith mentioned Austin was guilty of it I wanted to change my answer. Truth is I genuinely always forget about the fact he did that until someone mentions it, which isn't a rule that applies to any other celebrities. It might be down to the fact that Austin the person who we hear on podcasts is quite hard to distinguish from Austin the character on TV. Austin was top of his game when hitting a finisher on a woman would get a pop from the crowd (even back then it made me feel uneasy.) So I think it's easier to forget that Austin wasn't just playing an out dated character on TV, he actually did that shit in real life as well. Awards Moderator HarmonicGenerator Posted October 27, 2017 Awards Moderator Share Posted October 27, 2017 Hogan or Warrior? Warrior, always Warrior. Hogan was red and yellow, but Warrior was every colour. Hogan was a hero, but Warrior was a superhero. WOYAH! Rock or Austin? I didn't particularly like either of them during the Attitude Era, but Rock began to shine during Austin's absence in 2000. That plus Hollywood Rock in 2003 means it's The Great One for me. Bret or Shawn? Shawn. I liked his flashiness over Bret's less flashy style, and I enjoyed his matches and moves more. The 2002 comeback definitely tops him over the edge for me. Shawn's the one. Cena or Punk? There's a time that I would have said Punk for this without question, but now, it's definitely Cena. He's been consistently great for far longer, and I've gone right off Punk. Heenan or Ventura? Heenan without a doubt. Royal Rumble 92. WCW or WWF? WWF all the way. Never watched WCW when it was around, never wanted to. I'm a WWF guy! Ambulance Chaser
Hogan. He is the reason I watch Wrestling, as a young un I bought in whole heartedly. Never believed in Warrior, even as a kid something seemed off with him. Austin. Maybe the fondest memories of my Wrestling fandom are the open to a Raw, the camera panning the masses of people, everyone had a sign, then Austin's music hitting to open the show with a promo and the crowd literally making the building shake. Bret. Probably all things considered my favourite of all time, never has anyone garnered more sympathy with me as a fan, what an unbelievable selling genius. Shawn's matches always seemed too contrived and choreographed for my taste. Cena. Longevity, dedication. Has anyone had a better collection of big time matches. When the stakes are highest he always delivers. Heenan. My childhood basically. WWF. I did used to watch WCW in the mid 90's, but tellingly always AFTER WWF, I felt the greater need to WWF first because I was obsessed, WCW I could take or leave a lot of the time. stevieg1980
Warrior: Wrestlemania 7 was the first thing I'd ever seen WWF related. His match with Savage is timeless and I wanted to see more Warrior than Hogan after that. Rock: I remember being jaded watching Austin through mid 98. The stuff with McMahon while some of it was amazing the stuff with Taker and Kane really bored the shit out of me. Though 01 Austin is an amazing character run. I don't find at one point I was ever bored with watching the Rock. Best performer ever be it a short interview segment or a match there was always something good and entertaining to take away from the Rock appearing. Shawn: Toughest choice of all. I'll go with this reason though. I find myself now watching more Shawn matches than I would with Bret's matches. There is just something about a great Shawn match that keeps you going back. Punk: Due to the fact that I am a longterm ROH watcher. I bought into the Punk character early and that's never gone. Cena is Cena. You love him or you hate him. He's the perfect character to aim at for kids and also comes across as a fantastic role model for kids to look up to. While I can admit he's had some fantastic matches for a guy my age I feel it's hard to root for a character like that. At the age I was when I first saw Punk he was the perfect type of character to get into. Heenan: Mere words cannot express love for Bobby. He's your bumbling comedy uncle that does daft things or says things that make you laugh. And when the time came was a bastard of a heel when he needed to be. I think Heenan is timeless to. Even today I think he would fit great within WWE programming. WCW: First love. I'd watch Nitro and Thunder over Raw. Race home from school to watch Worldwide when it was on ITV in the middle of the night and it had been taped. Would love all the B and C shows on the Network eventually but there is no way I'd cancel my subscription over it. There is a comfort in putting on Nitro to me and hearing Tony and Bobby and Tenay. It's like putting on a Primetime and hearing Gorilla and Bobby or watching PWG and hearing Excaliber. Just feels right for my Wrestling fandom.
