Fog Dude
The results went into the opening post on Sunday night, as well as the draw for the next round of the FPL Cup. The table was worked out soon after that too. With an average haul of 7 points, only the duo at the top got more than one exact scoreline right. Of both of those, just MVP RULZ made it into double figures to extend his lead to 4 points. The FPL Cup ties were straightforward as Grecian moved ahead of me in the standings – in the only bit of movement this time out – and knocked me out of the competition, whilst the leader saw off third-placed Glenryck, so for him the Double is still on! Briefcase and ultimo were the joint worst performers for the week. Some crazy scores prevented higher scoring with two 4-0 wins in cross-city derbies proving tough to guess beforehand. PSG and PSV also wrapped up their respective leagues with shockingly comfortable victories over their nearest rivals, which took everyone by surprise. A 1-1 draw at The Liberty Stadium was the most fruitful match of all, closely followed by the game at Turf Moor (that TildeGuy originally missed because sometimes it seems like he doesn't even want to win), whereas a five-goal thriller in the curious derby at Selhurst Park caught a lot of participants out. Crucial triumphs for Huddersfield, Newcastle and Man City turned out to be generally more difficult to foresee.

Fog Dude
The results went into the opening post on Sunday night, and the table was figured out a short time later. That also allowed the draw for the semi-finals of the FPL Cup to be made, so I put that in soon after as well. Unfortunately the quarter-finals weren't particularly decisive, with nothing to separate the participants in three of the four ties. The rubbish tiebreaker I introduced when I came up with the idea for a knockout competition had only had to be used once before this round. Now three people have lost just for the crime of being higher up the standings than their opponents, which is a pretty unjust way to exit the tournament. I'm thinking of introducing a group stage to the Cup next season, which could help to minimise this problem because drawn matches would be allowed in the initial phase. The current Cup holder isn't playing anymore, whilst the inaugural winner ultimo was knocked out fair and square, so there'll be a new name on the trophy this season. He was also the lowest scorer this time out. Grecian slips a place but is still a whopping 32 points ahead of Stinky, whereas MVP RULZ now leads by 5 over TildeGuy, and Glenryck at least managed more than one exact scoreline. With a weekly averade of 6.6 points, it was hardly a vintage round. Most players were too optimistic about the prospect of an all-English Champions League final, which now doesn't look likely at all following the first leg putcomes. The Copa del Rey winners were easy to guess, but the margin of victory was more comfortable than anyone could've imagined. A stalemate in the league at the same venue the following day caught people out, but the other two Spanish results generally proved fruitful. Closer to home, another goalless draw at Vicarage Road turned out to be tough to foresee, alongside Spurs becoming the first side ever to lose an FA Cup semi at home down the road later that same day. A late flurry of goals for Arsenal made the score at The Emirates a bit too one-sided for many, but a draw at Stoke did yield a lot of points for the majority of pickers even if it didn't do either team much good.
