Haven't really thought about predictions but I agree with your picks for the top two fights there. Got a feeling Chiesa is going to expose Lee and i fancy Boetsch to twat the beard off Hendricks.

1 - How many fights on this card did Yamasaki officiate? It seemed way too many. He must have been tired.

2 - Yamasaki sucks. Quite a few poor decisions I can remember from him.  We may have been moments away from a legit finish, instead we'll have the narrative that Chiesa was robbed.

To continue on from Mario Yamasaki, he is just awful. That said, Chiesa was going out. If you re-watch the seconds leading up to Yamasaki stopping the fight, you see Chiesa's arms about to go limp. The outcome wouldn't have changed, and in reality Yamasaki being awful actually saved Chiesa a few brains cells.

However, the fact he didn't do the basics of attempting to speak to Chiesa etc is just laughable.

Josh Stansbury (206lbs, 8-3) vs. Jeremy Kimball (204lbs, 14-6) was short and sloppy, but the ending was fairly exciting. Neither fighter really stood out and despite winning, Kimball has some big holes in his game. On the bright side, nobody will ever accuse him of being on the gas.
Five Word Review: Not one for the purist.

Tony Martin (156lbs, 11-3) vs. Johnny Case (156lbs, 22-5) was almost entirely a boxing match. It was fine for what it was; a boxing match within the confines of MMA, but it lacked that zip, those moments of excitement to really make it interesting. Martin got the decision with 29-28 scores across the board and it was the right result.
Five Word Review: A decent MMA boxing match.

Jared Gordon (149lbs(*), 12-1) vs. Michel Quiñones (145lbs, 8-1) was another decent scrap, although the real standout was that even though Gordon officially weighed in 4lbs heavier than Quiñones, Quiñones looked so much bigger. Quiñones is a huge featherweight, and Gordon isn’t that far behind him. As the fight went on, though, that extra size wasn’t a lot of help to Quiñones, and Gordon increasingly took over before getting the stoppage late in the third.
Five Word Review: A fairly fine featherweight battle.

Devin Powell (155lbs, 8-2) vs. Darrell Horcher (155lbs, 12-2) was a decent fight, as they’ve all been so far, but like most of the fights so far, it didn’t have anything to really make it stand out.
Five Word Review: A lukewarm lightweight fight

Carla Esparza (116lbs, 11-4) vs. Maryna Moroz (115lbs, 8-1) was a fairly unremarkable fight, with Esparza using a takedown-heavy strategy to virtually shut Moroz down entirely.
Five Word Review: A very smothering strawweight fight.

Vitor Miranda (186lbs, 12-5) vs. Marvin Vettori (185lbs, 11-3) was another unremarkable fight, and it’s becoming a theme here. Not that there was anything wrong with this, but nothing stood out. So far, all of these fights bar one have been completely unassuming with absolutely nothing memorable about them.
Five Word Review: A fairly meandering middleweight fight.

Clay Guida (156lbs, 32-17) vs. Erik Koch (155lbs, 15-4) saw Guida overwhelm Koch with his wrestling and grappling, Koch just having no answer for it and getting taken down and controlled at will. If Guida had more power in his strikes, his ground and pound would have seen him get a finish because he was in that position so much, but Guida had to settle for the fight going the distance and easily getting the unanimous decision. Somewhere, two of the judges saw fit to give Koch a round, and I really don’t see where they got that idea from.
Five Word Review: A wrestling and grappling clinic.

B.J. Penn (146lbs, 16-11-2) vs. Dennis Siver (146lbs, 22-11, 1 NC) was expected to be another embarrassing night for Penn, who should have called it quits a long time ago. Well, Penn still should have called it quits a long time ago, but he managed to not totally suck against an opponent who no longer had the power he used to and at the same time, looks a lot more normal than used to. Penn actually managed to drop Siver in the second round with an uppercut, but it was a false dawn as to what Penn was capable of and Siver picked things up late in the third against a tired and weary Penn. The fight went the distance but it realistically says more about Siver, that he couldn’t finish a shot fighter, than Penn. Siver won by majority decision, with one judge having it a draw, which is a score pretty hard to fathom.
Five Word Review: A tedious and tiresome fight.

Tim Means (171lbs, 26-8-1, 1NC) vs. Alex Garcia (171lbs, 14-3) was a decent fight but no real highlights. It was a pure stand-up battle, volume against power, and Means edge out the unanimous decision victory.
Five Word Review: An entirely unremarkable striking battle.

Joachim Christensen (206lbs, 14-5) vs. Dominick Reyes (205lbs, 6-0) was short, violent, and saw Reyes lay waste to Christensen in 29-seconds. Well, that was a statement. And some much needed excitement.
Five Word Review: Reyes arrives with a bang.

Felice Herrig (115lbs, 12-6) vs. Justine Kish (116lbs, 6-0) was a good fight and a good showing from Herrig, whose superior technique won out over a stronger opponent. Herrig dominated Kish and even had a rear naked choke sunk in deep late on, but Kish managed to find a way out of it. Herrig was the better fighter but Kish was too tough to stay down, never making it easy for Herrig. Herrig got the nod and deservedly so.
Five Word Review: Herrig continues to prove herself.

Tim Boetsch (186lbs, 20-11) vs. Johny Hendricks (188lbs(*), 18-6) saw Hendricks coming in overweight, reputedly because of sickness, and looking awfully near the 200lb mark at fight time. It was a decent brawl, both men threatening the other with some big punches. But it was a head kick Boetsch landed early in the second that spelled the end of the fight, rocking Hendricks, Boetsch following up with a series of uppercuts to drop Hendricks and get the stoppage.
Five Word Review: Decent brawl with satisfying ending.

Michael Chiesa (155lbs, 14-2) vs. Kevin Lee (156lbs, 15-2) was a good grappling fight but with a terrible ending. They ended up on the ground and Kevin Lee was in total control of Chiesa. Lee had a rear naked choke on but Chiesa was fighting it. Visually, Lee looked to have it tight but Chiesa was defending it …and then Mario Yamasaki called the fight off. Chiesa was still conscious, he did not tap, but Yamasaki still stopped the fight. Whether Chiesa might have gone out is completely irrelevant. The fact was he was not out, he was still fighting, and he never tapped. It was a terrible call, absolutely terrible, and whilst it’s not the first bad call from Yamasaki, it may be his most egregious to date. Yamasaki blew this one so badly.
Five Word Review: Good fight with terrible ending.

Overall, this was a pretty damp squib. There were flashes of excitement and a decent fight or two. But there was little to really stand out, and the things weren’t helped by the night ending with one of the worst calls of all time. Mario Yamasaki used to be a really good referee, but it’s long past his time to get the boot.
