Hardy Boyz offered WWE deals

My fantasy booking theory is that they'll bring them back on the post-Mania Raw for the nostalgia pop and then have them drafted to separate brands and do this:

As for them in WWE, for me personally I'd like to see Broken Matt in all it's glory on one show (Maybe Raw) and revert back to 2008 WWE Champ style Jeff on the other show, I find Jeff a bit shit at the Broken stuff, he makes me cringe watching him try to do it, so let him do the coloured face paint and tassels stuff for the Kids and Women.

Best of both worlds. I just hope they don't do another feud to split them up because as much as that's what lead to the Broken gimmick initially, I just don't think we need another rehash of Hardy vs Hardy.

Anthem are mental, I don't understand what is in all of this for them, So the Hardy's (Mainly Matt) came up with 90% of the material, they even funded a lot of it themselves if I'm right in what I read and TNA are playing hard ball. Why, what do they want with the Broken Universe the daft cunts?? Can't see 'Broken" Mahabali Shera working, fucking fooling around in India with a Tiger or something. Without the Hardy's it is a dead gimmick isn't it? Not to mention at a time when they are desperate for some good will and to win fans trust back they are doing the exact opposite.

Well yeah, Anthem own it (or they think they do). Regardless of who paid for what under Dixie Carter's watch, they bought the rights such as media, trademarks etc including the broken universe when the bought the company.

I don't think anyone will use the gimmick, but it'll probably stop them from producing media on the back of it (of which Borash admitted is happening).

WWE have been doing similar for years.

The amount of hypocricy has been off the charts over recent weeks.

Its right and proper that everyone wants to see them return as the Broken Hardys. But you'd think that Anthem/Impact was the first company to try and protect their trademarks, the way some members of the IWC are crying foul.

WWE have, within their rights, been sending out cease and desists for years, and we've all come to expect it. Now the potential is there for the shoe to be on the other foot, some people don't seem to like it.

I fully expect a settlement in this case. The Broken gimmick is useless without the wrestlers being under contract, but Impact have to be seen to be protecting their intellectual assets. We can only hope so, as trying to recreate the 1999 Hardy Boys with 40+ year olds has the potential to be embarassing and cringeworthy.

Perfectly put, the only concern they should have is regarding the mass amount of broken contracts under Dixie Carter and what impact that has on it all. It's a disgrace how her name hasn't been dragged through mud over this (shock horror Reby Hardy praised her).

Anthem are only doing what WWE did with the Dudley name or NJPW with The Bullet Club.

You'd be gutted if you were the Hardys, paying someone else's bills and then not getting what you thought you were getting at the end of it. But that's Dixie Carter for you.

Like others have said, I reckon there's enough hardcore fans at PPV and Raw for the Broken gimmick to get a massive reaction. Imagine the lights going down and Matt appearing on screen "WWE Raw, I knew you'd come".

edited quote - or just the lights go down at post WM Raw and then a spotlight on Reby playing the piano ala Nakamura's entrance.

Can you imagine the pop it would get if the lights went down, the piano started playing (not visible) and a spotlight hit the ramp to show King Maxel toddling down to the ring?

Surely they wouldn't be bothering to re-sign Matt unless they thought they'd be able to use the Broken Stuff? I'm pretty sure WWE have the capability and finance to get the rights from Anthem.

Why? They hired the Dudleys and Outlaws for nostalgia runs alone. The Hardyz have that value regardless. A Jeff main event run and anything else they do with Fat Matt is a bonus.

WWE owning the gimmick would be even worse than Anthem/iMPACT owning it. Surely they wouldn't be interested without the footage of how the character was developed too? (What was shown on iMPACT)

I think you'd get the nostalgia pop and all of the merch sales with just Jeff. Without the Broken stuff you'd just be paying Matt to hang around.

In regards to the back story, I think in this day and age you can just throw it out there and fans are generally savvy enough to know what's happening. Certainly the live crowds.

It might not be great for the Hardys for WWE to own the Broken universe but it's probably pretty great for WWE if they can. Those Delete shirts will probably be the top seller in the company for a while. (Cena withstanding)

Matt is absolutely pointless without this gimmick or Jeff as a tag partner. A bloated, broken-down, lump of midcard. After a nostalgia run, he would be better off training or possibly contributing towards creative.

I totally see them just bringing the pair in as 40 year old's pretending to be 20 year old's, but the real money is in white-meat Jeff and Broken Matt. That's each of their strongest suites.

Yeah, the Dudleys was solely an ECW creation and they managed to get hold ot that trademark long before that company went under. Rightly or wrongly, the law often falls in favour of the employers in cases like these.

The Hardy's can't be broken now in the same way Chris Masters is Chris Adonis and Del Rio is Alberto el (de?!) Patron.

There is no money in Broken Matt Hardy. It might be entertaining (it's not) but it's not making WWE any more money. That's not even a criticism of this stuff, very little is moving the needle these days beyond the name WWE and genuine main event stars like Cena, Reigns, Lesnar, Goldberg and Taker.

Matt's value is in looking after Jeff, who has been a needle mover in the past (I said mover, not user) and protecting him on the road.
