The game isnt over yet. Biden is a shithouse, and Harris is a bastard too.

Harris is similar to Pence in that she's the bigger danger of the partnership. This was the woman who put trans women in men's prisons.

So here's what to look for if you watch on TV. The Very Basics If Biden wins huge, we could get an "official" call during tonight. If Biden wins clearly/comfortably it may well be clear

Is it Tildeguy?

If Biden does eventually prevail, I imagine Trump will shove the White House down the front of his trousers and shout 'NOBODY CAN FUCKING HAVE IT NOW CAN THEY'.

Bernie Sanders would have pissed it by Wednesday morning. It should have been him!

Plus we’d have had more Larry David on SNL

Biden's acceptance speech was extremely refreshing to hear, such a difference from the "all about me" or divisive rhetoric of Trump. Was also nice to see Biden smiling and looking excited by the whole thing, rather than a portly fuck making facial expressions like he's not sure if it was a fart or a shit.

Isn't it amazing how Trump is already feeling like yesterday's news? Total lame duck stuff.

I have no doubt that the legal action was always planned in the case of a narrow-ish electoral college defeat but it hasn't really had the desired effect. Even right-friendly networks kept on projecting states and everyone kept on counting as Trump's inner circle kept on throwing temper tantrums.

Their attempts of making it appear like the race is still ongoing have failed miserably. You get the feeling that journalists and even public workers across the country just collectively had enough of his shit and had no qualms about ignoring him the first real chance they got.

Biden's speech was so great that Neil Kinnock must have written it. Was good to see Biden looking so spritely and offering a message of hope instead of the same rambling, unhinged, polarising and offensive drivel we've been accustomed to.

I thought she was supposed to be as left as Sanders?

I think you might be mixing her up with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC).

I don't follow American politics all that closely. Why do people dislike Harris? I thought she was supposed to be as left as Sanders?

She's not particularly left and she's locked a lot of people up for long sentences on very minor crimes.

If his behaviour over the last few days is anything to go by they might move to kick him out now and have Nancy Pelosi hold the Fort while Biden gets ready.

EDIT: Even Johnson is distancing himself from Trump now. Slimy duplicitous cunt. BBC News - Boris Johnson congratulates Joe Biden on US election win

As to your first point, the only way to get rid of him is impeachment or declared medically unfit. Neither are likely and Pence would take over not Pelosi.

As to your second point, what is Johnson meant to do? He has to congratulate Biden or he risks pissing off the president-elect immediately.

Call out Johnson for everything he actually does that is corrupt and slimy as fuck, don't make shit up.

I’ll fully admit that my knowledge on her record is poor, but from articles I’ve read about this (Medium, Pink News for example) it seems to me that her recent record in standing up for the LGBTQ community has been good, and she’s acknowledged (admittedly bad) mistakes that were made. I don’t see why she would do that if her feelings on the matter weren’t genuine as, sadly, opposing the right of trans people to exist isn’t going to cost her many votes.

At face value she doesn’t seem like someone to worry about, so am I missing something?

I should be clear here, I’m not disputing what you’re saying - I’m genuinely curious.

It is hard not to look at Biden and Harris without seeing a sanitised Sanders and AOC. Not that BaeOC should be getting pushed into the top jobs just yet, mind. However, I've said before that a righting of the ship was safer than a wild swing to the other end of the spectrum. Biden's the face to calm everyone down, and reopen and reconnect with the progressive international agreements that Trump threw out the window. Trump's isolated nationalist approach combined with overt palling up with right wing dictators has done a lot of damage to the US' reputation and standing on the world stage, where they went from commanding voices to blatant military and financial bullies. It's not a bright new day, but a turn back towards something a little better.

The left really needs to get their act together. It amazes how bad the left are at explaining socialist-leaning policies to Joe Public, whatever the nation. You can argue about the control of the media and old boys clubs, but the left needs to connect with voters in a meaningful, everyday way.

It's this bit:

"Former Home Secretary Sajid Javid said Biden's win was "good news" for the UK in terms of closer co-operation on climate change, free trade and fighting the Covid pandemic.

He told Sky News' Ridge on Sunday that Mr Johnson's closeness to Donald Trump had been "overstated" and the Conservative government actually had more in common, in terms of policy, with his Democratic rival."

Of course it does.
