Awards Moderator Onyx2 Posted January 17, 2017 Author Awards Moderator Share Posted January 17, 2017 I'm with Archie here, at least watch part 2 only.
Paid Members tiger_rick Posted January 17, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted January 17, 2017 It's nothing to do with this particularly. I find it really hard to watch match after match these days. It just does nothing for me. I'm OK with a WWE PPV (and even then I'll skip a couple) or the NXT specials but generally, I don't even try. I can only "slog" through Raw each week because I FF half of it.
Paid Members PunkStep Posted January 17, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted January 17, 2017 I know how you feel, I'm normally the same. For most PPVs I'll watch the ones I really want to see, then say to myself 'Ah I'll watch the others another time' but never do. But this will fly by. If you want to limit the number of matches you watch, then skip the bonus exhibition match just before the main event. But the way the characters are built throughout the two hour show (night 2) was done brilliantly.
Paid Members stumobir Posted January 17, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted January 17, 2017 Yeah, this was a prime example of how you don't need 10 minute promos or cheesy backstage skits to develop characters, almost everything was done in ring and it paid off brilliantly. That's obviously not sustainable for a weekly show but it worked flawlessly over the two nights.
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted January 17, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted January 17, 2017 You spend three hours early on every Tuesday morning watching a more-often-than-not dull as dishwater Raw, but won't watch this?! Â Not to mention at least 90 minutes of Hull City every week on top of that.

Paid Members Accident Prone Posted January 17, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted January 17, 2017 Â Â Â Lots of great stuff Wonderful post, Accident Prone. I didn't want to quote the whole thing because it was quite long but I really enjoyed reading that. Makes you realise what a big thing this tournament could end up being in BritWres history.I'll second this, I'm glad I read every word of that post because it was great to see how much of an emotional impact the tournament has had on Accident Prone. A joyous read. Cheers lads. I tried to get my thoughts in by Monday Morning but I regressed to catching up on sleep as soon as I got back to Brum. Â And Rick, Night 2 is truly a joyous watch, wether you know about these men or don't. You won't regret it.
Paid Members garynysmon Posted January 17, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted January 17, 2017 I didn't watch this and probably won't. Watching the highlights on Raw though coming just after (or during) a Jack Gallagher appearance, Bate looked far too much like Gallagher. Are they trying to send out a message that the best Brits are all pasty midgets with mustaches? Very odd choice. Â I've just got a massive grudge against the UK tournament as I can't get over the WWE's attempts to sabotage (for the lack of a better word) the World of Sport deal. Probably a silly stance on my part as it sounds the best show of the year so far with Wrestle Kingdom
Paid Members PunkStep Posted January 17, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted January 17, 2017 It does sound like a silly stance. Â Plans for the tournament had been in place for months, long before WoS announced they were running a show. They then accelerated the idea as soon as the WoS announcement was made. Anyway, sabotage? Or trying to cash in on a bit of buzz created? Do you actually think this tournament has had a detrimental effect on the WoS show?
DavidB6937
Signed up to a Progress streaming subscription off the back of this and will watch a few shows on there. Ended up getting it for USD 0.98 for the month which I can't complain about. Won't keep it on a regular basis as I've got far too much to  watch but it'll be nice to see some of the guys from this. Paid Members Benno Posted January 17, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted January 17, 2017 People can talk about this being a landmark thing and blah blah, but the real achievement for British Wrestling is that Pitcos has said something nice about it. If that doesn't say you should watch these shows I don't know what would. Â The stuff with ICW potentially being on the network (and rumours of OTT and Progress too, i.e safe places to defend the WWE belt) are very interesting. If it comes to pass you have to wonder about the status of the ITV guys who work those promotions.
poetofthedeed
Any UK company with a streaming service should be putting out a compilation in the next few days, to try and get eyes on their product. Fans outside the u.k will wanna see more of these guys, and a compilation that introduces Tyler, Trent, Pete, while also showing the London riots, Travis banks, rampage brown etc seems like a no brainer to me. Paid Members Surf Digby Posted January 17, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted January 17, 2017 Are they trying to send out a message that the best Brits are all pasty midgets with mustaches? Pete Dunne has a tan and no mustache.  His match with Mandrews was genuinely brilliant. If it's available to you, go watch it.
Paid Members tiger_rick Posted January 17, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted January 17, 2017 I like Pete Dunne. Saw a tweet about him from Raider a month or two ago and watched some stuff on YouTube. Â I was just pointing out the comparison flippantly. Gonna be a lot of people who see nothing but that compilation on Raw.
Paid Members garynysmon Posted January 17, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted January 17, 2017 Do you actually think this tournament has had a detrimental effect on the WoS show? Â I can't see how it can't tbh. The talent pool isn't infinate and whereas there's room for a number of major promotions in a market such as the USA, i'm not entirely convinced that's the case over here. Â No matter how well the WWE tournament does, its still only going to gain exposure among the wrestling die-hards who already pay good money every month. The ITV show is the only chance of a real breakthrough and any kind of mainstream exposure.
