Paid Members eugenespeed Posted September 11, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted September 11, 2016 I'd been told on separate occasions that Rikishi was Yokozuna and Mable.
Snitsky's back acne
I did think when the Ultimate Warrior returned at WM8 that it absolutely wasn't him - his hair was shorter, his physique had shrunk.... me and my mates thought they had got somebody else to be the Warrior. Our 10 year old minds were so confused. Â ...but then we also thought Bret Hart and Jimmy Hart were related, so...
Sergio Bellend
More the opposite of this thread, but I had no idea during his brief run on ECW that Vance Archer was Lance Hoyt. Didn't recognise him with that short hair, and only realised when I wikipedia'd him after he was released.
Jackpot
Whenever they'd talk about Bubba the Love Sponge on Nitro, I always thought that was just a nick name for Big Bubba Rogers/Bossman.
Direct Impact
I stopped watching from about 1996 to 2000 when it came onto channel 4. I thought Rikishi was Yokozuna, Kane was the underFaker, and Bull Buchanan was Ultimate Warrior (cause of the hooked nose)
Dane Bramage
The promos for Curt Hawkins returning soon confused me. I thought that was one of Zack Ryder's old names. Â A bit of Wikipedia research has revealed they were apparently a tag-team instead.
Snitsky's back acne
I could never get which one was Matt Striker and which one was Matt Stryker until Striker turned up in WWE.
Wrasslin
Was Matt Stryker the one who wrestled like a shit Dean Malenko?

Our 10 year old minds were so confused. Â Â People in my school convinced themselves it was Texas tornado playing the part of the new warrior, because the old warrior had died. Â So many fucked up points in that theory.
W35ty
I thought Colt Cabana was some samoan wrestler from 90's WCW/WWF that works backstage at WWE.

Our 10 year old minds were so confused.. The day after Wrestlemania VIII had aired in the UK. One of my friends at school saw it and said the Warrior looked different, I remember him mentioning his hair was short and his eyes looked really strange. Paid Members Kaz Hayashi Posted September 12, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted September 12, 2016 For his future WM appearance against HHH was it Lawler who said he'd heard rumours that warrior was now really fat and bald? I remember him saying something along those lines and being genuinely freaked out about it, nail biting stuff waiting for him to sprint or waddle down to the ring. Paid Members Sergio Mendacious Posted September 12, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted September 12, 2016 Â Â Was Matt Stryker the one who wrestled like a shit Dean Malenko? Paid Members PunkStep Posted September 12, 2016 Paid Members Share Posted September 12, 2016 When I first got into wrestling, I got a Survivor Series 1988 tape for Christmas. My dad convinced me that the Powers of Pain were the same guys as Legion of Doom. I think it's perfectly acceptable for a boy of 7 to believe that, they looked more like LOD than the real Warlord and Barbarian did at that time. Â Edit: Chad Collyer was definitely the budget Malenko. Â Matt Striker had an impersonation gimmick in the promotions he wrestled in- think mainly in that promotion Blue Meanie ran, whatever it was called. 3PW? Â Matt Stryker on the other hand, might be who you're thinking of. He was a technical guy and I'm pretty sure around in the early RoH days.
