Zahabi's great at the breakdowns. He did a fucking brilliant post-fight breakdown of Rousey vs Holm but it got taken down (presumably because he'd used footage from the fight). There's one still on his channel but it's not the one I'm on about. It was a real eye opener though and really made me appreciate Holm's performance more. Before I watched that video I was pretty much of the same opinion as most people - that Rousey chose to stand with Holm. But the way Zahabi showed how Holm completely shut down Ronda's clinch game, that was clearly not the case and there was a lot more to Holm's win than a simple 'striker outstriking a grappler' line of thinking most were going with.

The bully mentality stuff is interesting. Some fighters are just like that. Really great fighters as well. I'd say BJ Penn had a bit of a bully mentality in his fights, for example. He never really had a fight where he bounced back from adversity and got the win. I don't know if McGregor's the same because, Diaz fight aside, he's had it pretty much all his own way in his UFC run. I think there were a lot of factors to him losing and a lot of it ends up coming back to Nate's granite toughness. A lot of fighters would've buckled under that first round onslaught from McGregor.

I saw that - it was perfection - so detailed, and fascinating insight.

Nah, not the same. BJ never had any heart - he always quit under adversity, most notably against GSP. Literally quit on his stool.

McGregor came back from multiple takedowns & getting his head sliced open by Chad. And he adapted & beat Holloway when he tore his ACL. McGregor seems way more mentally tough than BJ - we can see how obsessed & focused he is for this rematch.

according to UFC 201, Aliev/Lim is on the PPV and not Garbrandt/Mizugaki.

I didn't see that, did BT go to break when they ran down the 202 PPV? I looked on UFC.com, MMAJunkie, MMAFighting etc and none of them have the official bout order listed yet.

Randa Markos vs Cortney Casey has been added to this card as well. That should complete this one.

Guess it makes sense to have Garbrandt vs Mizugaki as the FS1 headliner. They probably see Garbrandt as a potential future star so why not put him in front of more eyeballs? Should be a good fight as well.

Well, if McGregor wins this time they can do the rubber match with no press conferences or media bollocks at all for all I care. With McGregor and Diaz tied at 1-1, you wouldn't need to do a press conference (although it'd be better if they could, obvs). Just let them both fuck off into a secluded Clubber Lang style training camp and focus 100% on winning the trilogy. I can just see the poster now...

Interview with Conor in the new issue of Mens Health magazine. Small sample here;

Conor McGregor may seem like a man prepared for anything in the world of mixed martial arts, but that wasn't the case on October 9, 2015.

In an interview with Men's Health (www.menshealth.co.uk), The Irishman has discussed the moment he witnessed firsthand the true extent of the dangers of the profession he has dedicated his life to.

McGregor sat ringside at Dublin's National Stadium as Charlie Ward, a team-mate from his Straight Blast Gym in Ireland, defeated Portuguese fighter Joao Carvalho via third-round technical knockout.

The 28-year-old was rushed to Beaumont Hospital 20 minutes after the contest having suffered significant head trauma following a sustained period of 'ground and pound.' 48 hours later he was dead.

Speaking in the September issue of the magazine, McGregor was asked how he had been affected by the tragic events of a night that shocked the MMA world.

'How do I feel?' he replied. 'How would you feel?'

'It's f***** up,' he says, finally. 'I wasn't just watching that fight. I helped train a guy to kill someone, and then someone wound up dying.

'This is a f****** dangerous game. People call it a sport, but it's fighting. I'm just making sure it ain't me. And that's f***** up.'

'Damn,' he adds after a few minutes silence. 'I still can't believe that kid is dead.'

The UFC featherweight champion has decided to continue his life inside the octagon, in the hope that Carvalho's passing will have acted as a wake up call to referees the world over.

As he looks ahead to the toughest challenge of his career, the highly anticipated rematch with Nate Diaz at UFC 202 on August 20, the 28-year-old believes it is not only his 'notorious' power, but also his unique movement that sets him apart.

'People are so caught in a routine, doing the same things over and over,' he says. 'I want to be an expert in different fighting styles, new training methods, new ways of thinking.'

For the past few years McGregor has been working with Israeli movement specialist Ido Portal in an effort to diversify his fighting style.

Together they have adopted an alternative approach to MMA training, combining such things as complex gymnastic sequences, drills that mimic the movements of animals and numerous balletic exercises centered around a bamboo stick.

'I've learned new footwork patterns that are very unusual,' said the Dubliner.

'I've learned how to find a lower centre of gravity and I've found more angles to throw shots. In a bout, I'm not just fighting another man. I'm dealing with another man and the ground. I want to understand how the ground can be my friend.'

One thing is clear, his first UFC defeat to Diaz at UFC 196 has not dampened his confidence in the slightest. 'I want this rematch so bad,' he says. 'I'll be better prepared this time. You can count on that.'
