Owing to the ultimately unnecessary evacuation of Old Trafford, the results didn't go into the opening post until Tuesday night. This is standard procedure for games that are called off but expected to be rearranged in short order. Had it been played any later than last Tuesday, the match would've been void for FPL purposes.

Partly due to the delay (but also because of an unexpectedly busy week at my end), the table wasn't calculated until Thursday, and was only uploaded here last night. It is still a normal weekly snapshot of the standings for the moment. The final version will be embedded in a follow-up post later this week. Since there were a lot more matches than usual, there is far greater scope for me to make a mistake, so I'd be grateful if everyone could double check that I've got their score right and added it up correctly.

Anyway, it all ended rather neatly with the new champion, MVP RULZ, being the top scorer on 31 points, to win by a clear 40 when all was said and done. Many congratulations to him.

There's a rarely-invoked rule that states everyone else should get a bonus point when the leader gets 4 or more scorelines spot on, but that doesn't apply during a bumper round for obvious reasons.

Things were just as tidy at the other end, as second-bottom Glenryck was the lowest scorer among those who bet on time, whilst late picker Seph was outright worst performer on 17 points, meaning he finishes a full 18 further back from what we'll call the 'wooden spoon runner-up' spot.

With an average haul of 24.78 and everybody managing to bag at least one three-pointer each and easily making it into double figures, there was understandably a lot of movement around the middle of the classification. The two most significant shifts were Bradyisgod22 squeaking a (virtual) bronze medal at the death ahead of Two-Face, alongside ZKM narrowly dropping back to third last behind yours truly.

A lot of the results must have been fairly obvious for scores to be that high, so we won't go through all the outcomes individually. The most notable coupon busters deserve a mention, however, as they threw a few spanners in the works. Clearly nobody thought Spurs would concede 5 at 10-man relegated Newcastle, nor that Reims would comfortable see off Lyon. Away wins for Roma and Fiorentina caught a few participants out, as did five-goal thrillers in relegation battles at Palermo, Angers and Guingamp.

Basically everything else went as people would've been inclined to guess beforehand, as sides who needed to win generally did so, unless they had a Cup final to look forward to in midweek or this weekend (or both in the case of Sevilla). The meaningless meetings and play-off clashes in England were a bit of a mixed bag.

Thanks for Running the league FogDude

Another Top job this season from you

I've reclaimed my trophy and happy to be champ for the 2nd time in 3 years, getting my D2D correct is what ultimately won it for me, seemed like I was top forever though the lead did start to shrink towards the end of the year

Look forward to next season and the battle to defend my crown.

You've done yourself a bit of a disservice there, I reckon. You beat TildeGuy by 40 points and got 44 more bonus points, but they weren't all from your own D2D round. Former champ TUFCfan got the second-highest number of bonuses, but he was never really in contention to win the whole thing. Anyhow, here it all is in embedded format for those who don't normally click on the link:

Drink it in etc...

I think we had a decent season despite the cakewalk it turned into for the eventual champion. It's a bit of a step into the unknown for us in the next campaign. For the first time in 9 years, there'll be an innovation that wasn't either my idea or suggested openly by someone who takes part.

We don't need to worry about that for the moment, mind. A sign-up thread won't appear this side of Euro 2016, so I hope you all enjoy that. The Irish, Scottish, Welsh and Gibraltarian clubs will have begun – and it many cases quite possibly finished – their European adventures in the meantime as well.

Without further ado, I hereby draw another FPL season to a close. I'd again like to express my gratitude to everybody who played or showed interest over the past 10 months. To all those who thanked me for running this thing I say: you're welcome, and the pleasure is all mine. Good picking again, everyone.
