Not sure about that. It was the 3rd of Takayama's 4th fights so i assume he was training to a degree. Some of Japanese pro wrestlers had no right being in the ring with MMA fighters though. Takayama took some hefty punishment in all his fights the crazy batard.

He currently presents programmes on green living under the Nom de Plume of Lieutenant-Colonel Dick Strawbridge too.

In all seriousness though, he's been my favourite fighter since I first saw UFC VIII all the way back in about, what, 1999? That way he demolishes Pakua-Chan exponent Thomas Ramirez (undefeated in over 200 bare knuckle challenge matches on the Island), his The Greatest Fight Ever Under A Minute vs Tank Abbott, and his The Greatest Fight of All Time vs Ken Shamrock all make him the most fun, manly and best fighter of all time. No-one could cut a promo like him either. Watch the way he plugged his fight vs King Mo on Inside MMA. Greatest fight plugging I've ever seen. Tough as fuck too. Yoshida broke his arm because he wouldn't tap, and Shamrock broke his ankles but he still went on to win.

Fucking love The Predator. Great Pro-Wrestler too.

If I read the non MMA threads here, would I understand what the hell you're going on about the whole time?

I feel like I'm watching a boxset from episode 6 every time I read your posts. :p

Now that sounds like a bloke who is hard as fuck. See how much easier it is when you actually have solid facts to build someone up?

All seriousness though, that's a great little write up which has made me want to check out more of his stuff

I think I've understood about four Butch references, ever. You're not alone!

One of the all-time great scraps in MMA history. Two guys who were legit, hard as hell and skilled.

This was towards the end of Ken's actual prime, so a victory over him still meant something to a degree back then.
