For more than a decade, the Plug nightclub has been the premiere nightspot in the city of Sheffield, with gigs from world famous bands such as The Arctic Monkeys and The Prodigy. But this April it plays host to the explosive wrestling action of Elite British Wrestling, and the grapplers that make up its roster intend to show off their own unique band of smash hits and broken records.

On Sunday 24th April 2016, the nightclub which won the “Best Bar None” award for 2015, will become the battle ground upon which ten of the most exciting superstars in UK wrestling meet in order to fight over gold and the bragging rights that can only come with victory in the middle of the squared circle.

“Solid” John Green, “The Demolition Man” Mikey Van Riot, “The Romanian Sniper” Radu Bulat, L J Heron, “The Extraordinary” Caleb Crowe, Joey D, David Deville and a mystery entrant will compete in the one-night only, winner takes all Plug Invitational Tournament.

EBW Heavyweight Champion “The Mean Machine” Mark Sanders answers the challenge of King Dangerous in the main event, putting his title on the line against a challenger with royal pedigree.

EBW Heavyweight Championship Match – No Holds Barred Rules:

“Mean Machine” Mark Sanders (Ch) vs King Dangerous

In a true clash of the champions, reigning Elite British Wrestling Heavyweight Champion, “Mean Machine” Mark Sanders put his title on the line against the EBW Catch Champion and current King of Elite British Wrestling, King Dangerous.

After their meeting in the main event of April Anarchy 2016 ended in a controversial disqualification victory for king Dangerous thanks to the interference of his manager, Bob “The Earl” Shoire, Mark Sanders took to the house mic and threw down a challenge for the rematch that would make it impossible for the same thing to happen for a second time.

When Sanders and Dangerous face one another at Live Wire, there will be literally no holds barred and no rules to be broken, so anything goes and you can be sure that both men will go to any length to ensure that they walk away with number one prize in Elite British Wrestling wrapped around their waist.

The Plug Invitational Tournament – First Round Match

“The Extraordinary” Caleb Crow vs L J Heron

The gravity-defying feats of “The Extraordinary” Caleb Crow will be put to the test against the flawless package of grappling excellence that is L J Heron, two men with such differing styles and personalities that this is surely one of the most extreme pairings of all time.

Will the self-proclaimed “Sun-Tanned Superman” ground and pound his opponent into submission, or will The Extraordinary One slip out of his grasp and deliver his patented high-flying offence to fell Heron and pin his shoulders to the canvas for the three count?

The Plug Invitational Tournament – First Round Match

Joey D vs “The Killer” Sam Kenny

Both of these young wrestling prodigies like to have fun when it comes to their matches, but whereas Joey D defines fun as having a good time and making sure that everyone watching does as well, “The Killer” Sam Kenny is solely amused by the act of inflicting as much pain on his opponent as possible.

The charismatic swagger of Joey D collides with the unhinged violence of Sam Kenny, and though the eventual winner will gain the right to progress to the next round of the tournament, there may not be enough of him left to take advantage of that chance.

The Plug Invitational Tournament – First Round Match

“The Demolition Man” Mikey Van Riot vs Dave Deville

With his signature nightstick in one hand and the other pointed at whomever happens to be on the receiving end of his righteous ire, “The Demolition Man” Mikey Van Riot dishes out his own form of rough justice to those who stand between him and victory.

But what use are rules and regulations when facing the maniacal Dave Deville, a man who’s fevered ego demands that he down one foe after another in an endless quest to prove that he has no equal and nothing will stand in his way as he clambers over one body after another in his climb to the very pinnacle of EBW.

The Plug Invitational Tournament – First Round Match

“Solid” John Green vs “The Romanian Sniper” Radu Bulat

“Solid” John Green prides himself on being the best pure athlete on the EBW roster, proving time and again that his claim of being athletically limitless is no mere boast as he has defeated many opponents and claimed multiple titles in the course of his career.

But in “The Romanian Sniper” Radu Bulat, Green faces an equally formidable opponent and one who knows nothing of sportsmanship, only the ruthless aggression and singular vision of a mercenary, which characterizes his vicious destruction of those whom he faces in the ring.
