I saw a photo of Jill from the RE3 remake on Twitter, and I'm not saying I completely understand why nerds wank over computer game characters, but I do get it.

Whilst not deliberately targeted towards such debauchery, a lot of the closeups in FF7R have an inordinate accentuation of the pectoral area of certain characters.

I heard Jim Sterling describecthe Final Fantasy 7 "remake" as more of a modern adaptation than a remake because some of the story elements play out quite differently. I keep meaning to try a modern Squenix title, but still have plenty of your old school FF7 to do, in between train driving and Animal Crossing-ing.

Toybox Turbos on Games With Gold at the moment is good. You can tell its from the people that did the original Micro Machines games back in the day for Codies. Really recaptures the feel of them, and there's a camera setting where you can play it like the original with that fixed overhead camera.

For some reason it's downloaded the Knights Of Pen & Paper bundle, but won't let me play them. Keeps asking for the disk. I presume it's a glitch. They're fun games. Nice retro style graphics, simple gameplay, good way to kill some time. The way it pastiches table top RPGs and blends them with video-game RPGs is a nice touch.

Read inside:

For a game that has expanded to the length of the original game for what used to be the first 5-8 hours of it, the remake is a lot more linear than one would think - there are only 3 or 4 chapters where one is left to do their own thing and we'll move on when one is ready, and up until you meet Aerith the game will go out of its way to berate you for going off the path, yet such is necessary to get some more of the rarer weapons and materia.

Speaking of which, the impact of materia has been increased yet the use of it has been scaled back as slots are scarce and only really become more generous as you level up the weapons. You can't level up armour and won't be finding any with four slots until much later in the game, and even then you're trading off stat benefits for it.

In lieu of having loads of materia the weapon upgrades are both necessary and useful, and deliberately geared towards specialisation - Barrett is designed to tank while Tifa is geared towards melee, even without me telling it's not difficult to guess who's suited for what.

Back to the story, you're pretty much on the button as there are several edits - and some that sacrifice realism to a jarring degree, although these are explained later in the plot. I'm finishing the game either later tonight or tomorrow so I may edit this to elaborate without spoiling too much.

As far as the characters themselves, they're not too dissimilar from the original except Barrett is more of a hardliner in his beliefs and Tifa is struggling far more to accept that some things are necessary, and her manner states that he's a chore to tolerate at times; he's also a lot funnier than in the original. Aerith knows far more about the underlying plot than she lets on, and Cloud... that would be telling.

What Switch games are good multiplayer? We have Mario Party and love it.

How many people? Smash can be pretty manic fun sometimes, although I don't think you can have an 8 player like on the Wii U version.

Mario Kart tends to be a lot of fun, unless you're stuck in the middle of the pack getting bullied by everybody.

just got that. I bought the Micro Machines game on Xbox One hoping it would be like the original but it was all abit shit.

I gave Call of Duty Warzone a bash this morning, not realising it was a Fortnite style Battle Royale game, just cant get on with it. Too much running around in open space for me with not a lot happening, im going back to my World War II game.

It reminds me of that 16-bit RPG style game of The Room that used to be on newgrounds.

Facebook has decided because I've been an active member of a group related to train sim world that I should mentor people on there, offered me to sign up to some 10 week program. I don't know what advice I could offer on anything. Started the Long Island routes. My XBox was glitching like crazy when I was in the tunnel out of New York Penn Station.

This is live now. I'm surprised there hasn't been more made of E Sports under the current situation.

I think if esports events took place using online play it might show just how awful some people's Internet really is.

Sky Sports F1 are e sporting the F1 Game from 1800 tonight.

They've been doing a few of them. It's using Codemasters F1 2019 with a selection of Esportists and F1 drivers. A few of them have been coming out saying they prefer iRacing, but I imagine with this being endorsed by the FIA they'd be obligated to use your actual F1 game.
