I feel this report needs to mention that DiBiase not only slapped on the Dream, but took Tommy down HARD to the mat with it locked in. Respect to the man!

Quality shows as ever on Saturday. Pleased with the change to the format for September's tapings too as I'm away that weekend, but I'll still be able to come to the Friday night!

The annual WAW Academy weeklong summer training camp is well underway here at Grappler’s Gym with a grand total of nine European nationalities represented amongst attendees coming together to learn from a team of trainers with an immense 250 years of experience between them. Students were split into two teams to be overseen by head trainers, Calgary veteran Chic Cullen and former British Light Heavyweight Champion Jason Cross, pitting them against each other in a fight to prove which group has the greater fortitude which will be judged at the conclusion of the week.

In addition to Cullen and Cross, numerous guest trainers are taking both groups through their specialities to provide a comprehensive understanding of the art of wrestling. Tuesday saw World of Sport legends Steve Grey and Mal Sanders schooled the students through some old school British technical moves designed to bring your opponent to the mat. British wrestling is a fundamental aspect of the training offered by the WAW Academy and this session served as a perfect example of what the style has to offer.

Today saw the recently arrived American superstar Jesus Rodriguez speed things up with some high flying lucha action followed by some strenuous fitness drills which left the students truly exhausted by the end of the session. Things will come to a grinding halt tomorrow when Rodriguez is joined by Saraya Knight as the two share their enviable knowledge of submissions designed to inflict maximum pain within the ring. Though this will likely lead to some very sore joints the knowledge gained from this session may be the difference between winning and losing in future matches.

On the final day everyone will be given the opportunity to showcase what they have learned and will culminate in some of the more impressive students being rewarded with matches at this Friday’s Great Yarmouth Summer Show at Retroskate. Regardless, every single student will leave Grappler’s Gym, and in some cases the entire country, with a much better understanding of the various ways in which they can wrestle after spending a vigorous week learning from the some of the best wrestlers the sport has ever seen.
