Fog Dude
I was away for a couple of days from Sunday morning onwards, so the results only went into the opening post earlier tonight and the table was only figured out and uploaded here just now. Luckily it was an easy week as there was no movement among the top 11 places. In a low-scoring round, the average of 6.37 points was helped by a rare successful D2D. SNRN10 was rewarded for backing his own side as Derby staged a late comeback at Griffin Park to turn the form book around. He therefore collects a pair of bonuses from a dozen of the other 16 participants who picked promptly. Had it not been for those extra points, he'd have only moved up one place, and that would've been the only change in the standings whatsoever! Joint best performers would've been TildeGuy and Ratty on just 8 apiece this time out, whilst either way Glenryck is the least impressive of those who managed to bet on time. The gap at the summit is down to 'only' 40, but Nana's deficit at the other end has increased to 7 points. The only person to bet against a Real Madrid victory went for a home win, so the match at Málaga was ultimately a dud, but the other Spanish outcome proved more fruitful in the Canary Islands. Two home triumphs by the same scoreline in Scotland were harder to guess beforehand, whilst Spurs' home reverse to Palace also proved tough to foresee. Everton's comfortable passage to the quarter-finals on free TV turned out to be fruitful, but wide margins of victory for West Ham, Chelsea and Reading meant than none of those three fixtures yielded 3 points for anyone. In fact, the late third goal the Baggies conceded at the Madejski cost a couple of people two points, whereas the rest of the field failed to back the underdogs in the first place. The departure of sj5522 from the competition was confirmed this week. She's been posting in Off Topic during the consecutive missed rounds, so I can only assume that these threads have been actively avoided. She didn't seem to understand how D2D works anyhow. That means there are only 2 turns remaining, so I'm going to try to burn them off in the next two weeks, starting with one on the following card, which should appear shortly.
