The results went into the opening post on Sunday night, and the table was swiftly figured out and uploaded here just afterward. It feels strange to be typing this about last weekend's action with an ultra-rare Tuesday night MotD on in the background. All those cup ties seem to matter less in comparison – and unusually, their outcomes are far more foreseeable than the league this season... so much so that the average score this time out was an impressive 8.1 points.

Despite that, most participants are fairly set in stone at this stage of the campaign, so there was no movement in the top half of the standings, and very little below that. In fact, this round's worst performer Prince Nana appears determined to make the race to avoid last place as boring as the title procession, as he dropped 8 points behind Zebra Kid Mark. Joint second best scorer Bradyisgod22 cut the gap at the summit significantly, but it still stands at a whopping 42 points.

The Scottish League Cup upsets caught most people out, in particular the shock on Sunday. A special mention is therefore due to TUFCfan who so nearly took a maximum 6 points from those matches. The final next month will probably be the last time we feature that competition, as it's taking on an abominable new format from next season.

The games included on the card from the FA Cup were, in contrast, surprise-free, although Watford and Bournemouth came through minor scares, which most people guessed correctly. The victory for Palace produced more of a mixed bag of bets, whilst away wins for Man City and Blackburn were even more comfortable than a majority of players saw coming.

Equal top scorer SNRN10 deserves a tip of the hat for getting the margin of victory at Villa Park spot on, especially considering the stalemate in the league meeting between those sides was so even and boring.

Further afield, a capitulation at the Nou Camp by Atlético after taking an early lead salvaged at least a point for a lot of people, and Athletic's triumph on the road was also good mainly for one-pointers, but a clear 'home' win for AC Milan at the shared Giuseppe Meazza proved much less fruitful.

A new set of 10 with an intriguing D2D will be in a new thread shortly.
