This Saturday at the historic Winter Gardens the 14th year of Morecambe Wrestling gets under way.

 

The name of the company may change but the ethos remains the same. Morecambe is British Wrestling's answer to Memphis, Georgia, Smoky Mountain, Texas and the days of the territories when kayfabe still lived. That's why they say It's Real in Morecambe...

If The Referendum lose, they must disband and Laird Grayson (currently suspended) is fired. If The Referendum win, Laird Grayson is reinstated.

Results from Outbreak held at the Winter Gardens in Morecambe on Saturday January 23

 

Before the show, host Matt Taylor Richards introduced British wrestling legend Marty Jones who was in the front row.

 

Ricky J McKenzie, Cyanide and Ryan Hunter defeated James Drake, Barricade and the debuting Big Willie Stylez when RJM pinned Stylez.

 

Chris Ridgeway pinned Sam Bailey after Greg 'The Truth' Lambert interfered.

 

After the match, Joe Hendry attacked Bailey, Lambert made the count and they announced a 'victory' in the Hendryfeated Streak. But then Stixx ran out, followed by Stallion. The Alpha Male of AOW announced that Hendry's punishment for all his misdeeds would be his title match with Stixx was happening right now!

Stixx defeated Joe Hendry by sharpshooter submission to retain the AOW Title and extend The Stixx Streak. After the match Stixx kept the hold on as further punishment to 'The Local Hero'.

 

Lana Austin and Alexis Rose beat Nikki Storm and Carmel Jacob. Nikki claimed to be 'caretaker women's champion' in Viper's absence.

 

Craig Kollins pinned Chris Silvio (with Bobby Cash). Kollins was cheered for the first time in AOW. Afterwards Chris Ridgeway attacked Kollins.

 

Johnny Phere came out to talk to the fans and hinted at retirement because he had nothing left to prove. But then a face from his past appeared on screen, Mikey Whiplash! Whiplash challenged Phere to a match at Morecambe Mayhem on March 19 and 'The Psychotic Warrior' accepted.

 

The Referendum (Bobby Roberts and Liam Thomson) captured the AOW Tag Team Titles after a thrilling England v Scotland streetfight against Big Sexxxy (Mr Big Shaun Vasey and Sexy Kev) after they handcuffed Mr Big to the ropes then double-teamed Kev. The win means Laird Grayson's suspension is lifted.

After the match Grayson came out with another pair of handcuffs and The Referendum cuffed Kev too. But Stixx ran out to make the save. The show ended with Stixx, Vasey and Kev burying Liam Thomson under the flag of England as Grayson and Roberts looked on furiously.
