The New Age Outlaws are going into singles action as we approach WrestleMania XV.

Road Dogg's a hardcore brawling specialist. He'll fight you anywhere with weapons. He's a top contender for the hardcore title.

Billy Gunn's the "best pure athlete". He's not got main event charisma, but people might buy him as the guy going after the "wrestling" title, so he's a top contender for the I-C strap.

Gunn's in the hardcore title match at WrestleMania. Dogg's in the I-C title match.

Weren't expecting that, were you?

Add to the above, the interwoven storylines that Bad Ass had been mixed into with Shamrock, Val and Goldust, and Road Dog with Snow and Bobcore, and the matches were chock full of "making sense" just the way they were, but instead..... shambles. Complete mess.

What I want to know is.... Bash At The Beach 2000. If you were putting the title on Booker T at the end (ludicrous Jarrett/Hogan bullshit aside) ..... why did you have him lose to fucking KANYON on the undercard?? Way to make the fans think "Yeah, this guy deserves to be on top."

I might be remembering this wrong...

Summer 99. Taker and Big Show are tagging.  Taker, in a transition between the Lord of Darkness and the American Badass, is an abusive mentor type.   Big Show has had enough of his shit and is about to deck him.   Paul Bearer gets up on the apron, shows Big Show something in his jacket (that we can't see) and Big Show falls into line.

We never found out what it was

Dustin Runnels as Seven in WCW, what the hell was that all about, why go to all the effort of producing those creepy ass vignettes if they were just going to have him come out and shit all over the gimmick

Wasn't that down to the sudden change in the creative team, though? From what I understand, they didn't intend for him to shit all over it, but whoever came up with it got fired just before his debut, and they decided to change direction.

In fairness, from what little I saw of Rhodes following that segment (which I actually really liked), he was pretty decent as the American Nightmare - a little bit of a Stone Cold rip-off, but he did great in making it his own gimmick.

There was talk that they ended the Seven gimmick because it was loosely based on a nonce and for obvious reasons didn't go down very well with people. One of those vignettes involved Dustin looking at some kid while they were sleeping from outside the window right?

Was Beaver Cleavage actually shagging his Mam? Is Chaz still abusing his missus or did she run away to a women's refuge?

Thrasher showed footage that proved she was lying about the abuse and she disappeared. And this lead to a Headbangers reunion.  I think she actually died not long after her last appearance on TV.

I think the one we would all like to know is just who the fuck was behind GTV ?

Oh, god, you're right. Coming back to me know. Vinny Ru's standard "Let's pretend it never happened" response.

Good shout. Not sure anyone was supposed to be behind it were they? I always assumed the G was for Goldust but I've no idea why.

When Russo first got a website in the very early 2000's he had a live Q&A chat to promote it and I, having nothing better to do at the time, stayed up until god knows what time in the morning to take part.  GTV was one of the questions I managed to get through, with the answer being it was originally pitched as some sort of Tom Green crossover since he was really hot at the time on MTV, but Vince said no because he had no idea who he was.  So the plan was changed as a way of reintroducing Goldust but he ended up leaving for WCW.
