Fog Dude
So, the Welsh Cup tie I was supposed to attend fell to high winds on Saturday, but was completed safely tonight a few hours after I'd got back to England. Luckily none of the English or French ties was called off on this occasion. I managed to put the final scores into the opening post on Sunday night, but the table was only figured out just now and then uploaded here. In a low-scoring week, it was one of those rounds where MVP RULZ impressed and fully justified his position at the summit. He and Rory were joint best performers, with only Two-Face and hbk4life also making it into double figures with three exact scorelines right. Bradyisgod22 is doing his best to keep up with a haul of 9 in this round, but the gap at the top is nonetheless extended back to a whopping 31 points. Seph sinks into mid-table by skipping the Saturday matches, but it's serial basement-dweller Zebra Kid Mark who keeps him company on a single point this time out. Despite making his picks on time, he's now fully 15 points behind the absent Prince Nana. A rare non-insipid performance from Steve McClaren's Newcastle saw off an abject Liverpool and created one of two duds on Sunday. The other was the shock win for fourth-tier Wasquehal over Metz, which earned the home side a clash with PSG next month. Earlier in the day, a surprisingly high number of participants had backed a draw (and therefore penalties) in the all-Ligue 2 meeting at Sochaux. They were almost proved right as the deadlock was only broken in extra time, but it was fine as this outcome was the next most widely guessed. Both the German results proved fruitful too, as did triumphs for Eastleigh and The Blades in the FA Cup. The score draw at the Hawthorns was also easy to foresee, but the stalemate at The Matchroom Stadium Brisbane Road and the late equaliser for Chesterfield against the managerless Saddlers turned out to be tougher to bet on beforehand. Right, I can't quite believe I've managed to get all this done on time again following a hectic weekend. A new set of 10, including a D2D, will follow in a separate thread shortly.
