Fog Dude
The results went into the opening post on Sunday evening after I got back from an impromptu trip to the Gate to see England women struggle to a single-goal win over Bosnia (who defended better than their male counterparts did at Lansdowne Road a couple of weeks earlier, to be fair) in atrocious weather conditions. The table was then figured out last night and uploaded here not long ago at all. Average scoring this week was just 6.5 points, despite Man United's failure to win at Leicester. A score draw means that ultimo lost his bet, and 15 of the 18 other participants who made their picks on time rightly disagreed with him. He did avoid becoming the worst performer, as Rory, Ratty and latecomer TUFCfan share that dishonour. Top scorer and the sole person to get more than one exact score was Bradyisgod22, which is very welcome as he closes the gap to MVP RULZ by 3. SNRN10 was the only other player into double figures for the round, whilst Zebra Kid Mark is now adrift by a dozen at the wrong end. Wins on the road for Juve, Morton and Raith proved fruitful, but an away reverse for Lazio in Tuscany produced a dud outcome. Back closer to home, the scorelines at Dean Court and Selhurst Park unsurprisingly evaded everyone, but the latter game was at least good for a lot of one-pointers. The stalemate at White Hart Lane wasn't much help either, and the home triumph for Sunderland turned out difficult to foresee. The Hornets ending up victors in a five-goal thriller at Villa Park of all places (!) also wasn't widely guessed beforehand. A new set of 10 will follow in a new thread shortly.
