The results went into the opening post on Saturday night, and the table was worked out over the following hour (surely some kind of record!) but was only uploaded here just now. Average score was 7.88 points, which is a tad on the low side, especially for an international round. Bradyisgod22 moves into second place as top scorer on 15. However, leader MVP RULZ was one of the few other participants into double figures this time out, so his lead still stands at a whopping 33 points.

Both came very close to having the bonus point rule invoked for everyone else. At the other end, Zebra Kid Mark was the next best performer and is now only 9 points behind lowest scorer Prince Nana, which is the kind of gap-closing that the race to avoid the wooden spoon needs.

As for the friendly games, most were caught out by excessive pessimism regarding Northern Ireland, and some misplaced optimism for England's chances in Alicante. I was the only player to get the score at the Cardiff City Stadium spot on. Makes you wonder how Holland managed not to qualify for the Euros after all.

A score draw in Sarajevo proved fruitful for many, not least for Ireland themselves as they completed the job in Dublin last night. Home wins in Gothenburg and Lviv were equally useful, and Sweden and the Ukraine have of course since joined the Irish in confirming their place in France for next summer.

An away victory for Trinidad was a mixed bag of a guess, but ultimately also yielded a fair few points for a majority of people playing. The African outcomes caught a lot of them out, though. That's understandable, since Algeria and Egypt overwhelmingly won their return legs tonight against clearly inferior opposition.

Annoyingly, Argentina-Brazil was postponed to Friday after all due to heavy rainfall, but I wasn't about to check the weather forecast for Buenos Aires 8 days ago. As it turned out we ended up with a triumph by a single goal for the hosts in Lima, which was similarly foreseen by a narrow majority of participants.

Next time on the card, both club football and D2D will return. New thread appearing shortly.
