Not counting any bonus if you don't count King Mal forgetting again, I count 11 for me - well happy with that.

Here's the link to the first new-look glossy table of the campaign. Okay, it's still a screen print of an Excel spreadsheet pasted into Paint and uploaded to Photobucket, but there are different typefaces and more sober background colours for this season.

The mean score in this round was 7.75, which is about average. It would've been slightly higher had hbk4life made his picks on time. It doesn't take into account King Mal's theoretical score of minus 38. I did drop him a PM this time but he ignored it, and he has been logging into the forum so he must've noticed it if not the thread. Thus, there's no excuse for skipping two rounds. He'll be automatically kicked out if he doesn't play next week, but I doubt he'd want to start with a deficit of 70 points anyway (19 players bet against Newcastle this time out, and 16 did so last week; multiply the sum of those numbers by two to arrive at the negative total). I'll make sure someone who knows D2D inside out has their turn in Week 3 in order to ensure this doesn't happen again.

That makes Zebra Kid Mark effectively the last-placed participant at this early stage. He, Nana and hbk4life are punished for missing at least one partial week, but SNRN10 and TildeGuy are perhaps surprisingly the worst performers among those who bet on both full cards so far. Glenryck was the outright lowest scorer this week and therefore lies only just ahead of that duo.

All twenty people who played have now signed up properly, so there's no need for ZKM to worry about that. At the summit, Rory's haul of 15 points isn't quite enough to see him to top spot, so the bonus points rule isn't invoked despite his feat of guessing four exact scores correctly. Instead, it's Ratty who leapfrogs into first place with a dozen to add to last week's joint second spot. Former champions MVP RULZ and TUFCfan also overtake original pacesetter Vegeta to share third place.

No EPL game was quite a dud, but three-pointers were hard to come by. Routine wins for Arsenal and Swansea weren't quite universally foreseen, whilst City's margin of victory over Chelsea caught everyone out. Stalemate at Vicarage Road only yielded one three-pointer, whilst crucial triumphs on the road for Leicester and Norwich didn't prove simple to guess either.

Most people ignored Forest's home form to rightly plump for a home success at the City Ground, which was a slightly more fruitful outcome than the score draw in Huddersfield. The Bundesliga was the most useful league of all, however, with both results earning most participants at least a point.

Whew! That's the first true write-up of the season over and done with. Hope I remembered to cover all bases. Another set of 10 will appear in a new thread in due course.
