Thought it would be appropriate to start this thread as the new season fixtures have been announced for the weekend of 8th August:

Bournemouth v Aston Villa

Arsenal v West Ham

Chelsea v Swansea

Everton v Watford

Leicester v Sunderland

Man Utd v Tottenham

Newcastle v Southampton

Norwich v Crystal Palace

Stoke v Liverpool

West Brom v Man City

How do you think your team will do? Who will win the league? Who will get relegated?

Let the talk commence and lets start looking forward to the new season!

Whatever the price on Rodgers first manager sacked is get on it! Poor bloke barely has a chance to get any momentum with our first 7 away games looking far easier to lose than win.

Sorry to be pedantic but every game for anyone is easier to lose than win

Still agree about him being first to go, very interested what Spurs do next (this) season too, rate Pochettino and would love him to finish 3rd so we never have to hear Redknapp and his media mates go on about his two 4th place finishes

Klopp has been making eyes at the 'Pool hasn't he? Whereas I think Brendan was a bit unlucky last season losing the irreplaceable Suarez and then Sturridge all season, surely it makes sense to ditch him now and get in one of the most sought after coaches in Europe, giving him a preseason to bed in?

Yeah, Klopp's agent came out last week speaking about how he doesn't necessarily have to join a top 4 side and there's great teams just below that. He then went on to say Klopp likes working with a DoF and prefers not to deal with transfers. Pochettino is as safe as a Sours manager can be for now so I assume he's shaking his ass at us.

Think we may batter Newcastle away opening day. Plus Newcastle where absolute dog shite for about 85% of last season and I don't see them turning much around without an entire team revamp. Seem to have already got our eye on a few transfers and pushed one through so far within the very first few opening day's which is unusual for us. Good signs.

I predict top 4 won't change, City sack Pellegrini mid/towards end of season. Chelsea win it again, Arsenal run em fairly close this time. Spurs will look better but still fail, Pool fans near unanimously lose patience with Rodgers. Best Of The Rest will be Swansea who have picked up some bargains and could easily have the kind of season So'ton did, that's if So'ton dont again. Oh and Stoke could be shit hot too if Bojan gets back early

Norwich will be impressive, Leicester and Palace will somehow retain their momentum and they'll all have decent midtable seasons

Think Bournemouth can scrape staying up at expense of the Norf East clubs, with Hammers maybe also under threat, Watford's season could be a complete nonstarter

I think Rodgers will last the season but will be sacked at the end. I see Liverpool having a similiar seaon to lst year which is not good enough to keep his job. On a side note, i do not really keep up with German football, was Klopp a really good manager then? I know he got to a champions league final once but lost. What sort of football does he play?

I find it funny that loads of people who i speak to about football now are saying Liverpool should get Klopp or Man City should get Klopp and i'm guessing most of them know next to nothing about him.

I see the top 4 staying the same with Chelsea winning it again.

High pressing after losing possession for literally 90 minutes and sharp counter attacking that relies on a shit hot playmaker.

You have to be really, really, really fit and Rodgers and Poccetino have tried this style with varying degrees of success.

The year Dortmund got to the Champs League final was for me one of the best football teams to ever play. I discussed this with Guardian journalist Jonathan Wilson outside a pub, he wrote Inverting the Pyramid, which is excellent if you haven't read it, and he predicted 2/3rds of Prem teams would be playing this way in the next couple of years.

But fitness levels have to be superhuman.

Back on topic, don't care apart from Spurs, but again we will struggle to keep any consistency apart from the odd great performance. Same old shit.

I'm guessing they do know about him, everyone knows what he's accomplished surely? Reaching the Champions League final was a fantastic achievement given how good the big teams were at the time, and their demolition of Real in the semi finals (including a 4-1 win at home) proved how much of a force they had become.

Dortmund had become a bit of a mid-table team when Klopp took over, they had just finished 13th. Within a few years, he'd won two Bundesliga titles with them- which is remarkable given how Bayern were leagues ahead of everyone else on paper. He likes attractive, exciting football and helped develop the likes of Lewandowski, Goetze, Sahin, Kagawa and Reus into brilliant key players. He's also a terrific character, extremely passionate and animated on the touchline but has this warmth to him. Very popular man and one of the best coaches in Europe.
