She looks like Tony Curtis with boobs.

(Edit: Decent boobs, not Some Like it Hot fruit in a bra)

What kind of world do we live in where it needs clarifying that Jamie Lee Curtis has decent boobs?

It was more to distinguish them from Tony Curtis' appearances with boobs.

Photoshop. Well, in a manner of speaking. An absolute bugger going through the course on LinkedIn Learning and I'm not convinced I've got it entirely cracked. The 'quick' selection tool also gives me nightmares at the mere thought of it. But I can now colour in black and white images, warp images, add text in unique ways, and cut and paste my head onto different people/things (poorly) for the lolz.

Not entirely sure where to go with it next. Next I might go for the big guns and hit up Microsoft Paint, which is basically UKFF's equivalent of doing a masters degree in creative arts.

I do an end of year quiz at school each year and do an entire round that is my face poorly photoshopped onto movie stills/posters from that year.

My Photoshoppery is built almost entirely on two events. One is a 1 hour crash course as part of a music promotion thing that the DPW were nice enough to send me on, where I learned about the "Flatten Image" function. Before that, I couldn't do anything other than resize, brightness/contrast and add filters because I couldn't get it to save as JPG.

The other is the Photoshop contests we used to have on here. Layer masking and free transform being two of the major things I picked up during that time.

I was born in early November 73 and have many early memories; one of them being a terrible plane crash which turns out to have been the Tenerife Disaster.

Today I learned, thanks to a Easyjet pilot who I chatted to the answer of a question that I always wondered; one that when visiting online plane enthusiasts forum seemed to cause arguments.

If Van Zanten had missed the Pan Am; even by the proverbial baw hair, then he could even with the 200m tail strike have flown around and landed without the need for any fuel dump.

With a full 747 and a completely full petrol load he could have landed; albeit there was a good chance of over shooting the runway due to being so heavy.

He explained all aitliners can do this and training is essential in the scenario of a fire on board after take off where the most important factor is to land and await help.

This has always intrigued me. As I said when asking the question on specialist forums the ensuing answers seem to cause arguing so it was great to speak to a pilot.

Unsurprisingly the disaster and the actions of Van Zanten are still an integral part of pilot training.

Out of interest, what's the forum? Always enjoy these kind of topics.

Today I learned that the drummer for the E Street Band, Max Weinberg, has a son who drums for Slipknot.

It's weird to think that Slipknot's drummer is the former drummer for the E Street Band. It's also strange to see Slipknot's bass player playing for them as he used to be in a band called Cry For Silence who I've seen play in plenty of pub back rooms during my college years.

Some of you almost certainly know this, but I love it (and I searched, but couldn't find it in here).

Eminem's 'My Name Is (Slim Shady)' samples the awesome guitar and bass bit from this Labi Siffre song. You can hear it, unmistakably, from 2:10.

Those instruments were played by... Chas and Dave.

Technically, it's not played by them as 'My Name Is' uses an interpolation of the song rather than directly sampling the track. Dr Dre always re-records a sample as he has more control over manipulating it and then only has to pay the publishing rights to use it.

Briefcase

As I only joined to ask one question I'm not sure.

Will have a look at a password book I have stashed somewhere to check.

Although yes Dre does that a lot, I am pretty sure that in the case of My Name Is, he uses a direct sample as Labi Siffre refused to clear it until lyrics were changed.

Plus Siffre got all the publishing rights to it, so poor old Chas N Dave, as lowly session musicians, got nowt. Don't worry, they'll always have Ossies Dream.

@Chris B Such a great little fact isn't it? That songs been sampled a fair few times as well.

TIL 'Knives' from Scott Pilgrim is 'Fortune Cookie' from Glow. I had not even made the connection and have been clearly not paying any attention whatsoever *facepalm*
