Anyone remember these?

YES.

I bought the Ruud Gullit one from Woolworths in Sutton, with money from my 13th birthday. You just don't forget a purchase like that. My best mate got Les Ferdinand. I've got no clue what happen to it sadly. I do remember that I used to actually use it for tea, and it lent that shite plasticy twang to every cup.

I had that David Beckham one. Might still be at my mum and dad's house packed away in a box somewhere. Shit for actually drinking a cup of tea out of.

Who remembers these? I had this John Barnes figure for some reason...

Yes!

I had the Ruud Gullit one, seen here alongside what must have been a cereal box giveaway Ruud Gullit from the other month after having a bit of a clean out before moving

I've also got the Marco Van Basten figure somewhere.

Those smugs seem smack bang in my era too but I don't remember ever hearing of them. Two other bits of football tat from the same timeframe that I'm wondering if anyone else remembers, I can't find pictures of them because the words I'm using are too vague.

The first was a flip book showing a goal, they did loads of Man Utd ones. I think they were double-sided, and they definitely had a red plastic handle thing on the top.

The second was a little primitive portable video player, like a slightly more evolved View-master. You bought the device and could then buy the reels for it individually or in sets of two, each of which had a little video clip that it'd wind through.

The flip books I might have just got from Old Trafford, but the video reel things were sold all over.

Those don't ring any bells with me Pitcos, but immediately brought to mind these things which were given away in Kelloggs cereals during Euro 96...

I collected a bunch of them. They were called Virtual Videos and each showed a little clip of an England player in action as you tilted it up and down.

Yeah, used to have a Gary Lineker England one. Don't think I still have it now though.

i'd have loved a Smug, they are amazing!

I have a tump of those Sportstars figures though (i'll try digging em out), off the top of my head i have Southall, Maradonna (in a Napoli kit), Lineker, Barnes, Pat Nevin (!), Rush, Hughes, Walker. There are more.

I was recently at the National Football Museum and they've got a few Sportstars figures on display there.

I had those virtual video things too from the cornflakes, brilliant!

Anyone remember Corinthian PowerPops? They was little cards and when you pinched them together a player popped out. I had loads of these! Still have about 100 or so which I found in a bag recently!

Edit: Also does anyone know if there worth anything? Rekon I could have some pretty sought after ones if there is a market for them!
