Paid Members IANdrewDiceClay Posted April 8, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted April 8, 2015 Basically a thread about how someone has value and then ... doesn't. It can be anyone you feel really, like Sheamus or even Wade Barrett, since they were pretty hot shit in 2010 and have been swimming upstream a bit to get in the mix again. Or it could be Kanyon or Chris Harris. People with steady work for years and then fell off the radar all together for one reason of another. Â BUT I'm going to start with an extreme example. Mr Kennedy has to have the most incredible/hilarious career ever. Vince fell in love with him. They thought he was more charismatic than the Rock at one point. They were going to make him the next Austin/Hogan. They did all sorts. We could be sitting here in 2015 with Kennedy on top as a 20 time world champion, having blown up Vince, having beat the Undertaker's streak, with his last name as McMahon in every storyline on Raw. But instead it all fell apart. He failed drug tests days after getting arsey on news shows, he got injured before he was set to cash in the Money in the Bank, he got suspended before he was meant to become a McMahon, Benoit died the night he was meant to be revealed as the bloke who killed Vince. Now he's black balled. I remember hearing Nova say that Vince was so angry when Kennedy dropped Orton on his head, that he said "when this plane lands, I want him out of here and never want to see him again." This cunt has zero luck. It could not have went worse for him. You cant beat the story of Ken Anderson in the WWE. From the next Steve Austin to working with Abyss on Impact. Paid Members air_raid Posted April 8, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted April 8, 2015 For me, The Miz. The guy went from defending the WWE title at WrestleMania in 2011, defending the WWE title, going on last, versus John Cena and WINNING, then sharing the ring with The Rock in the latter's return to actual wrestling, gradually down the ladder to being part of the multi-man clusterfuck Team Johnny vs Team Teddy at the next Mania.... all the way to the pre-show for Mania 29, making up the numbers in a battle royal at Mania 30, then making up the numbers in a battle royal on the pre-show for Mania 31. The guy dropped from winning the biggest match on Mania to not even being worthy of the card within two years. For a guy that still kept a job within the company rather than things going totally tits up, I find that fall staggering.
JakeRobertsParoleOfficer
Â for me its a choice of 2: Â Jake Roberts: Went from top WWF star to highly visible crack addled parody, showing himself up on the lowest of low indies. Â Chyna: Top WWF star, a standout in the business, alligned with the big movers and shakers. Then...... loses the plot when bf starts knocking off the bosses daughter! Rather than use her loaf she goes mental, develops major addictions, shows herself up publicly and ends up having to do harcore a**l porn movies in her forties! Â Think Chyna must top it! Undefeated Steak
Flair. Greatest ever, and to top it off he got the best send off you could wish for. A couple of years later he's bankrupt, fighting with his son in law and getting banged up, backing out of agreements with ROH and putting his title belt up as collateral. The man had it all in his prime and threw it all away.
Brock Goldberg
On a smaller scale Taz in WWE. Â Giving him the debut they did someone must have seen something in him. Â After that amazing opening night at Rumble 2000 he pretty much did nothing for the rest of his in-ring career.
IronSheik
Bret Hart. Â One of the top stars in the world off the back of Montreal, headed over to WCW and sulked his way to mediocrity.* Â *not discounting the effects of his brothers death
Trout Stain
As soon as I saw this thread, The Miz was straight in there. Can't have summed it up any better than air_raid has
hallicks
Mediocrity as a side effect of a stroke, interesting. Â Jeff Hardy has to be in there, from top, top WWE babyface in the late 2000's to Willow a few years later. Not to mention that match against Sting. PSF
Mediocrity as a side effect of a stroke. Don't be dick. He was obviously referring to the actual run in WCW. And he's right, it was awful and he completely lost all of his appeal after leaving WWE.

Paid Members bAzTNM#1 Posted April 9, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted April 9, 2015 Ronnie Garvin went from winning the NWA Championship in 1987 to being on a jobber tag-team, with an actual jobber as a partner in about two years.
big7thletter
I hate to say it but Kane  Was a literal MONSTER when he debuted and for a while he continued to be awesome, then won the WWF title, then lost it 23 hours later, since then he's had a few good runs but he gets changed from monster to anger management guy to monster to suit wearing guy..  Alberto Del Rio otherwise. They pushed that dude to the moon and then he soon lost it all, including his job. Wa Wa Waaaaaaaaa

Wa Wa Waaaaaaaaa   I don't think Kane has fallen from grace.  He's been with the company for 20 years now. He's gone from shit dentist, Fake Kevin Nash, but then went on to play a defining role in the Undertaker character development.   Granted he might not be to everyone's taste these days, but he's part of the authority. He gets film roles. He's booked on every Raw, and has moments where he still looks pretty strong. And when he gets the mask out for one last push as the "monster" it will be sold like Iron Man, Hulk and Thor have just merged into one freak
Michael_3165
I'd agree with Bret Hart... Stroke and Owens death aside he went from great champion to bitter old man in three years. Â Mick Foley is another for me... A once beloved world champion now money grabbing weirdo who tries too hard. Â Flair is another I agree with. Sad pathetic mess. Â xpac was great at one point now he is barely recognisable and a mess I'd agree with Bret Hart... Stroke and Owens death aside he went from great champion to bitter old man in three years. Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted April 9, 2015 Paid Members Share Posted April 9, 2015 I'm not even taking the piss with this but...Benoit. From finally winning the big one in 2004, being respected by everyone in the wrestling industry and loved by fans for his in ring ability...to rendering his entire career meaningless and offing his wife and kid in 2007. Â On a lesser note, and it wasn't his fault, but Savage in 93/94. From swapping world titles with Flair and working with Warrior at Wembley in 1992, to pissing about with Repo Man on Raw over a stolen hat within a year. The Crush storyline was alright but he could've done so much more those last two years than sit at the commentators desk. Big PPV matches with Bret Hart, Owen Hart, Shawn Michaels, Diesel, Mr Perfect, Yokozuna, whoever. I get that Vince wanted to move towards the New Generation but it seems criminal that the biggest star they had at the time (once Hogan left), who could still go in the ring, wasn't in a bigger role. It's nowhere in the league of Kennedy or some of the other falls from grace in here, and at least Savage was able to have a good run in WCW after this, but even as a kid I thought 'why's Macho Man basically Lord Alfred Hayes now?'
