WrestleMania 33 - Wembley Stadium?

WrestleMania 33 Location discussion topic.

Will Vince ever leave North America and take WrestleMania overseas? Pros and Cons to doing so? Could London be a viable option for the WWE to host WrestleMania?

Personally I think it would be a great thing for Vince to bring Mania to London, it has everything you need, and proved that by hosting the Olympics in 2012, plus the wrestling fan base in the UK and also in Europe would be more than enough to sell out Wembley or the Olympic Stadium. Although I do understand the time differance and it would make it very awkward for Americans to watch the show during the day. What do you guys think about the UK possibly hosting a WrestleMania?

It's definitely more conceivable now that the Network is the main source of income, but that increase is of about 1%. The fact is that WWE has about 50 major stadia to take it to in the USA without even considering the possibility of bringing it to Wembley. Next year they're going for the attendance record at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington and I wouldn't be surprised if they're eyeing up Ann Arbor for some time in the future. There's also Canada to return to at some point and even if they experience such a downturn that they have to take it out of stadium venues, it's still probably more worth their while returning to Madison Square Garden than carting the whole thing across here to put it on a three-to-four hour delay.

I'd love to see it happen and you can put me at the front of the queue if it does, but I just can't see it.

Seems unlikely given the way the host city ends up getting chosen these days, plus all the other reasons. Summerslam is a posibility for the future maybe, but if they did I'd rather it was at the Olympic Stadium than Wembley. Still unlikely though

This comes up every so often with the Rumble at various points being touted for the Millenium Stadium and Hampden/Celtic Park. I'd love it to happen, but with time delays and all sorts even with the Network would take something special for the WWE to proper PPV over here. I read somewhere and it may have been on here that all things considered Summerslam 92 wasnt all that successful? I'm not imagining that am I?

WrestleMania's silly talk, of course. Why would they bother even bringing a lesser PPV over here? They might sell out the NEC faster for Battleground than they would an arena in Cleveland or whatever, but with the international costs and time difference etc, what would be the point?

Well they never did it again.

Pros - we all would think it was cool. And it might create more interest in their next tour, although the tours usually do alright anyway.

Cons - time difference, cost of bringing the full setup over, the fact that financially it's simply not worth it.

Wasn't Phoenix said be considered for 33? Since Triple H and Stephanie were at the SuperBowl for it which was where XXVI was held. The new Minnesota Vikings Stadium is also said to be in the running. Would guess that since Minnesota hasn't had one yet. Makes sense.

I'm surprised they haven't tried to push SummerSlam as an attraction that could fill such a stadium. Certainly odd that it's in such small arenas.

Can't ever see another PPV outside North America unless business gets really slack. They only reason for it would be to create brand interest in a certain area. To generate local publicity and therefore network subscribers. Otherwise, not worth their while.
