Abe_Knuckleball_Schwartz Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 No way on earth Jimmy Hart would have been a dick. I've never heard a single thing about Jimmy Hart that suggests he's anything less than the nicest man alive. The bloke puts up with Honky Tonk, Brutus and the Nasty Boys. He has to be a saint. If he gave you the business, it would have been like Ned Flanders calling you a cunt. He'd have taken a photo and shook your hand if he had his cock in his hand and wouldnt have complained. He's so nice, he was letting people out of their contract to work for the WWF when he was promoting the XWF. Lovely chap. Oh dont get me wrong, I wasnt implying he was going to be a dick or anything. At the time I saw him, he was just wandering into the gents and at the time I didnt fancy waiting outside to ask him for photo. Looking back at it though I wish I had of done, having said that I could imagine the Nasty Boys telling me to fuck off!
Paid Members Tommy! Posted March 6, 2015 Paid Members Posted March 6, 2015 Madman Manson (double sound) Id like to second this, one of the nicest blokes I've met in any walk of life.
Widdy85 Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Jim Ross is the nicest guy I've ever met in Wrestling. Has a great sense of humour. Anyone who thinks he is bitter and miserable really couldn't be anymore wrong.
Awards Moderator HarmonicGenerator Posted March 6, 2015 Awards Moderator Posted March 6, 2015 He does have a history of killing puppies, though, which works against the 'nicest guy ever' thing a bit.
Paid Members herbie747 Posted March 6, 2015 Paid Members Posted March 6, 2015 Forgot about Burridge and Devitt - both sound lads.
Widdy85 Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 He does have a history of killing puppies, though, which works against the 'nicest guy ever' thing a bit. I didn't know him when he was 12 so doesn't really apply here.
Paid Members air_raid Posted March 6, 2015 Paid Members Posted March 6, 2015 The best impression I ever got of a wrestler was one that barely any of you will know, gal wrestler Hailey Hatred, who made a big name for herself in the Joshi scene right around the time of my first trip to Nip. Â I first met her when my host informed me we could go to the JWP show at Korakuen through "Mike's friend who is wrestling on the card" and it turned out to be Hailey, who we got our tickets from on the door, who happened to actually be not just "on the card" but the reigning JWP champ, defending the belt in the main event. For the rest of the next ten days she happened to be at a lot of the same New Japan shows as we were and happily met up with us to go on the lash after several shows, sometimes with Luscious Latasha and/or Mia Yim coming along for at least one mojito, and including a trip to Roppongi after the G1 finals which left me with a heinous hangover the next day which I had to put up with on my walk, train, 2 hour bus ride to the airport on my way home. Best of all, Hailey just GAVE me and my mate free tickets to an All Japan show just because she had them, and didn't really want to go to the show alone. Best free show I'll ever see, that. Â Great girl, ignoring the fact she was convinced she was destined to marry Davey Richards. That was a bit weird.
The Dart Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 I've met loads of wrestlers, and only a handful have been arses, so listing all the ones who were nice would be mad, but a few stand out.  Met CM Punk twice, he was really nice both times.  Booker T was awesome. Seemed like the happiest guy in the world.  Daniel Bryan really nice guy every time I met him. Summer Rae was great. Scott Stamford might be the nicest wrestling person I've met. Honky Tonk Man didn't seem to want to stop taking to me the second time I met him. Was a bit awkward after a while, but he was just being friendly.  A few others who were nicer and friendly than average - Alicia Fox, Seth Rollins, Brad Maddox, Sandman, DDP, Batista, Santino Marella.  The king is William Regal though, who I've met 4 times I think. Awesome every time. Obviously loves meeting and talking to fans.
Donedude Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Ken Shamrock was a really nice guy when I met him as was Dan Severn and Josh Barnett. All the MMA guys who have turned workers I've met have all been really cool! Prince Devitt was also really really nice was talking to me about comic books as I was wearing a spider man shirt.Â
Paid Members air_raid Posted March 9, 2015 Paid Members Posted March 9, 2015 Prince Devitt was also really really nice was talking to me about comic books as I was wearing a spider man shirt.  Fergal's awesome. I met him the once and since he'd had a whole day of talking wrestling to wrestling fans, I chewed his ear off about what he thought Spurs were going to do in the transfer window/next season. Top lad, very dry sense of humour. Can't drink much, mind.
Donedude Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Steve corino has always been cool with me, some of the stories he tells are amazing!Â
ryan1888 Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 devitt, dave mastiff, ciampa and roderick strong were all absolute gents when i met them.  bj whitmer was a bit of a dick i thought.Â
Sheffbag Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Jimmy Snuka for me all the way. Met him in the dingledom of Barnsley at a 1pw show (the one with the Doug vs Carino 1 hour match which went around 45 min time limit) Wandered out of a door with a beer with my mate and snuka was there talking to his manager for the night. We just waited not saying anything to him having our drink then he came over to us after he'd done , shook our hands and spent time chatting about yorkshire and barnsley bitter (don't ask) Â Top bloke Trent acid in kfc for the Blackburn no ring show was a cool guy too
Stunner Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Ultimo Dragon was cool as hell - I don't always bother with meet and greets but the guy was right by me and I couldn't help myself. Really nice, and lovely to my little brother who still thinks he's the greatest. Â Ted DiBiase, Sr. was really chatty and amiable, which was a pleasant surprise as I've heard he can be a bit aloof if people try to talk about anything except Christianity. None of that when I met him. Â Doesn't really count as I haven't personally met him, but I remember "Rowdy" Roddy Piper made my day once. He tweeted along the lines of "having a coke backstage", so I replied with some half-arsed joke about the old days. When I suddenly got two or three lengthy replies from him I assumed he was probably shouting at me for disrespect or something, but in fact he had read my Twitter bio which said "I try to write, but the words rarely come" or something equally pretentious, and he decided to impart his tips for overcoming writer's block. Thought that was such a cool thing to do.
Paid Members Arch Stanton Posted March 10, 2015 Paid Members Posted March 10, 2015 Jimmy Snuka ...  We just waited not saying anything to him having our drink then he came over to us after he'd done , shook our hands and spent time chatting about yorkshire and barnsley bitter (don't ask)  Well now I have to ask. I want to know what Superfly thinks of Barnsley Bitter.
