Â Once I had walked to my destination in half hour it made me appreciate that while London is massive, you don't exclusively need public transport if you're able bodied. That is very true. Likewise - used to hate the place the first couple of times I went because of it too. Felt like I couldn't do anything at my own pace, like I was just being shuffled from tube station to tube station. The first time I took a day to just go out for a walk, find my bearings, and realised that I'd just walked from Covent Garden to Hyde Park, then to the South Bank, and back, and how many other Tube stops and locations I passed along the way, it was like the whole place had opened up to me and I've loved the city ever since, and learned to make sense of the Tube after the fact. It is all well and good trying to encourage people to come to shows, but when you tell them they have 15 seconds to buy a ticket, in the middle of a working day, it is rather more difficult.
