Premier League 2014/5 Thread

NEWM

Recommended Posts

Seeing as how it took some minor miracle for me to be even be allowed back in the thread this season, I'm starting the new one while the World Cup's on and nobody is paying attention.

I mean, for shit's sake, the fixtures came out yesterday!

First games:

Arsenal v Crystal Palace

Burnley v Chelsea

Leicester City v Everton

Liverpool v Southampton

Manchester United v Swansea City

Newcastle United v Manchester City

Queens Park Rangers v Hull City

Stoke City v Aston Villa

West Bromwich Albion v Sunderland

West Ham United v Tottenham Hotspur

Anyway, let's have some of the usual pre-season pontification on how shit/great things will be this time around (In three weeks or so when it's all over in Brazil).

Villa look in trouble for their opening games. Like big trouble. Can see Lambert getting the sack if they don't come away with that many points in their first few games knowing how they end seasons, Benteke looks to be off, and all they're bringing in is old, washed up rejects.

I'm excited to see QPR back. Nothing like their transfer merry go round to get interest in the league. Joey Barton is my hero too. Also with Hereford fucked beyond belief I have extra time to spend on the Premier League.

West Brom are absolutely nailed on for relegation. Insane end run of games like Norwich had just in the previous. Burnley then maybe, unfortunately for Tiger Rick, Hull.

QPR will have learnt their lesson from last time and probably finish mid-table.

We suffered last season when we had a couple of 'death runs'. Looking at our fixtures, we don't have any back-to-back games with big teams. Well, we do play Spurs and Chelsea back-to-back...but as I say not with two big teams.

This thread starts earlier and earlier.......

Super pumped for the new season. King Louis' Team is shaping up well

------------------------De Gea------------------------------------

------------Martins Indi---Hummels-----Vermaelen-----------

Rafael------------------------------------------Shaw/Evra/Blind

--------------Vidal-------Clasie-------Schweinsteiger----------

Sanchez-------------------------------------------------Januzaj/Gaitan/Depay

-----------------------Mata/Rooney/Kagawa----------------------

------------------------Van Persie/Cavani---------------------------

That line up will at least get us the CocaCola/Carling/Argos Cup.

Liverpool's last three games are Chelsea, Palace and Stoke. In other words, the two games where they lost it last season and their bogey team. Not even saying we'll be in contention for the title at the end, but the idea of anything on the final day being reliant on beating Stoke is already worrisome.
