Mr Tibbs Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 KENTA announced today at a press conference at the NOAH offices that he would be leaving the promotion, with his final show being on 5/17. KENTA was the top star of the promotion. He had a WWE tryout week in January but downplayed it upon his return to Japan. The belief in Japan is that he is WWE-bound, but at the press conference, he said that he would say later waht the next move in his life would be. But he did say that he has a new challenge ahead of him.  Could have some great matches on NXT with Neville and Zain.
Pier Six Brawler Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Sad to see how far NOAH has fallen that their top star is prepared to leave to take his chances with WWE given their shameful treatment of Japanese wrestlers in the past.
Paid Members IANdrewDiceClay Posted April 30, 2014 Paid Members Posted April 30, 2014 Yokozuna was their longest serving heel champion for years.

Like?  That tattooed guy that did the moonsault to the outside was a pretty cool cat.
Loki Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Sad to see how far NOAH has fallen that their top star is prepared to leave to take his chances with WWE given their shameful treatment of Japanese wrestlers in the past. Â Like? Â Tensai's been made to look quite average, whereas everyone knows he was amazing in Japan.
Paid Members Teedy Kay Posted April 30, 2014 Paid Members Posted April 30, 2014 The Orient Express had a decent little run. Kato was my personal fave.
Ladiesman345 Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 YOKUZUNA HO HO HO! Â Tajiri was the best Japanese wrestler of a fairly bad lot over the years. He seems to be a bit of a forgotten guy in WWE history.
Mr_Danger Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Godzilla was a monster in Japan but looked pretty damn foolish wrestling a depantsed JBL in WWE.
Paid Members FLips Posted April 30, 2014 Paid Members Posted April 30, 2014 That cowboy who pretended to be Japanese was the worst one.
Paid Members IANdrewDiceClay Posted April 30, 2014 Paid Members Posted April 30, 2014 On a serious note, its a different culture these days, so maybe KENTA will do alright. Looking at a Mexican wrestler, Sin Cara dying on his arse wasn't for the want of trying. They gave into his protests not to go to developmental and he just wasn't a fit in terms of right style, his instincts and fundamentals were all to cock and he was injury prone. He just wasn't going to make it, no matter how much they ran with him. Daniel Bryan wouldn't have made it a few years back either. A fat bloke with a beard would have just been a fat bloke with a beard in their eyes even if he was amazing on the mic, so Bray Wyatt would have found it tough. If there was ever a time for KENTA to make his mark, it would be 2014. And even if he doesn't do anything on the main roster, NXT is soon to feature Devitt, Zayn, Samaray Del Soul, Neville and KENTA. Quite the group there. Just enjoy that. Â Mind you, is he up to it? Its not like he's anything special these days.
Mr_Danger Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 I get the impression that with HHH constantly going on about the 'Reality Era' and Brock Lesnar conquering the streak that WWE could be looking to move to a more athletic, snug looking product. All the boys are MMA marks these days and UFC reached its peak a few years back which is usually an indicator that WWE is ready to pilfer from it. Its hard to imagine a Japanese guy in WWE not being portrayed as a stereotype though.
King Pitcos Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 A stereotype would be far more entertaining than the "man who wrestles" gimmick he'd actually have.
