Sting has signed with the WWE

Why are people getting excited about his debut when all that's been said is that WWE are looking for somebody like him to be apart of 2K15, if WWE and Sting are on good terms and he has or is close to signing wouldn't they use the real Sting? He could have agreed to be apart of the game for x amount of money, there's nothing there to say hes going to debut, at least anytime soon.

Because we're wrestling fans and we're eternally 12 fucking years old.

Why would they waste a lot of money booking Sting in for a day of promos if they don't actually need him, when they can book a much, much cheaper lookalike to do the same thing?

That's a dead cert to work.

If the new WWE game is going to heavily feature Sting in it's promotion, like Warrior last year, then in all likelihood the man himself will be involved at the time of it's release. That's not really relevant to this casting for the trailers they are about to film for it though. It's obvious that the game will allow you to play as WCW Sting- in the Crow gimmick but probably in his equally famous previous form too. So they want a dude who looks like that to appear in some vignettes, that's all. Of course they can't get the real Sting to do that job- because he doesn't look like a bodybuilder any more.

Bit mo' likely to get away with it when it's a vignette of a bloke in face paint.

True, but unless it's a quick and vague appearance it will go down like a lead balloon, IMO. An interview would be totally see through. They really are better off using the real Sting, unless their just wanting someone to stand on stage in a distant spotlight then piss off.

You would think sting is more then likely to have at least one match in the wwe with all this going on.

If the undetakers off then maybe a match against bray wyatt could work.

Have Sting debut as his full of life (early/latest sting) character, have the wyatts take him out (cant think of a reason why yet) then have sting come back as the dark mysterious crow after the rumble. Which would end with a match at mania.

Why would you think there would be an interview with the impersonator?

I don't, I just think a promo or something with the real Sting will be better than something obscure with an impersonator.
