WAW Youth Academy has run successful shows at Breckland centre Costessey over the last year and are now heading for an even bigger stage after sell out shows at the former venue. The kids will now get a chance to perform at the biggest venue of all Epic studios in Norwich, before the WAW Big show Epic Encounters 8 june 14th.The kids show will lift the curtain on a fantastic weekend of wrestling at Norwich's premier venue. The Kids show by the WAW;YC Will commence at 3pm and the tickets are just five pounds each with monies made going to the WAW;YC To help with equipment to enhance students skills. If you have or are going to purchase front, 2nd or 3rd row seats at the WAW Event you will get entry to the Kids presentation," KIDMANIA" For free. Roy Knight won the 40 man Royal Rumble, last eliminating Alex Young to win the Crusher Mason trophy, Hotstuff & Phil Powers were 1 & 2, Hotstuff lasted 35+mins & Phil Powers lasted 40+mins.

 

Great show as always from WAW, not a bad match on the card, WAW returns to Norwich in October (date to be confirmed), WAW returns to action on Friday in Thetford, Saturday in Fakenham & Sunday in Costessey

hello and welcome to epic encounters 8, tonight sees a huge night in WAW as we see Doug Williams defend the WAW World title against Zak Knight,

Danny Boy Collins vs King Kendo, Ladies action from the Bellatrix girls,

the new RQW Cruisrweight champ against a Former World Champ, a new inductee in the WAW Hall Of Fame and a 40 man Royal Rumble for the Crusher Mason Trophy as well as a

 

few surprises.

 

Tonight sees many wrestlers but none so more frightning then the nightmare jester Jynx, ive had the privalge of seeing Jynx a few times and im looking forward to it

 

for the other fans.

Match 1 sees The Nightmare jester Jynx against the number 1 contender to the RQW European Title the Belgian Bull Robin Lekime w/Lady Lori

 

This match was one i was looking forward to as ive been a huge fan of Jynx's since i saw him back last year in EWW in Hastings and am also a big fan of The Bull's,

would be a great fit in a ring with Ceasaro or Daniel Bryan. Robin showed he wasnt scared or intimidated by Jynx but it was Jynx who was scared of The Bull, Robin used

his strength and power to first clothesline Jynx outside then slingshot him back in which was followed by a beautiful pumphandle suplex which got a 2 count. Jynx soon

got the advantage by taking out the knee of Robin with a dropkick followed by leglocks and holds, he was able to use the ropes as the ref had his back turned trying to

keep Lady Lori away from ringside, the jester was definately not a crowd favourite. Robin was able to get his self back to his feet and hit a impact side suplex, goes

for the bull lariat but is dropkicked to the knee again and Jynx applies yet another leg lock. Jynx whips Robin into the corner and hits a stinger splash twice, he

goes to the top rope for a moonsault but Robin gets to his feet just as Jynx flies through the air and lands on his feet, he turns around just in time to be hit by a

bull lariat, Robin with the pin.1.2.3 and win. Great match from these two, hope to see Jynx back in WAW soon. Hope to see Robin get his title shot soon against the

current RQW European Champ Karl Krammer.

 

Match 2 sees two legends of British wrestling go at it as the WAW British Champ & 1/2 of the RQW European Tag Champs King Kendo w/Tommy Lee go against the 30yr pro and returing to WAW, Danny Boy Collins.

 

Since being last seen in WAW, Danny has been helping promote Superstars Of Wrestling with Matt Jarrett(https://www.facebook.com/pages/Superstars-of-Wrestling-

UK/163442763689159?fref=ts) in Gloucester, there next show is on October 4th and features AJ Styles, Luke Hawx, Jushin Liger, The Knights and many many more. Danny has also recently opened a training school in Boston, lincolnshire, the next date is June 21st/22nd if you are interested in learning from one of the greats of british

The crowd were fully behind Danny with chants of You Tapped Out towards Kendo, the man with the midas touch was always at ringside and was always using dirty tactics

behind the refs back to help his client, Kendo keeps Danny on the outside not letting him get back in, using the rail and ringpost to keep the bristolian down but

certainly not out, not letting Danny back in the ring was the downfall of Kendo as he recieved his 1st public warning. Once Danny got back in the ring he hits a

dropkick to send the big man to the canvas followed by a second rope elbow followed by a jumping elbow to get a 2 count. Tommy Lee uses more under handed tactics while Kendo carries on to use the ropes which leads to his second & final public warning. Danny hits a nice dropkick to send Kendo outside which allows Danny to get his own back with the outside action. When the action returns to the ring, Danny applies a armbar to Kendo who taps the only trouble is Tommy Lee has the refs attention, when the ref is back in the action, Danny reapplies the armbar only to have Tommy distract the ref once again, while Kendo is tapping quicker then a teenager playing candy crush. Back on his feet, Kendo whips Danny into the corner and goes for a big splash but Danny counters and hits a bulldog, Danny goes to the top rope and hits a nice crossbody, 3 seconds later we have a winner.

 

Before match 3, Ricky Knight comes out to introduce his father and brother to the crowd, his father Charlie Frary is a former WAW ref and was great to see him again having worked underneath him when i first starting reffing.

 

Match 3 sees the New RQW Cruiserwight Champion, The Chosen One Alex Young w/Tommy Lee & Tank O Rooney against the Former WAW World Champ Roy Knight.

 

The Stipulation for this match is that if Roy wins Tommy Lee must enter the Rumble and wear a mankini.

 

The action started before the bell could ring as Alex & Tank attacked Roy but this had little effect as Roy soon cleared Tank out of the ring and soon hit a

clothesline flurry on Alex which ended with a big one to the outside where Roy punishes the Chosen One with chops and running him into the rail. Once back in the ring,

Alex hits a nice leg lariat and helps distract the ref while Tommy cheats to gain the upper hand for his client, yet again. Alex hits a nice neckbreaker and gets a 2

count. With Roy thrown outside Alex goes to the top rope and hits a beautiful axe handle to Roy, feeling he has the upper hand, he goes again but the veteran Knight

moves out of the way and Alex eats the rail, Roy then hits a atomic drop on the rail and is issued his frst public warning by the ref. Once back inside a criss-cross

is ended with a crossbody by Roy which only gets a 2 count, Roy then hits a big powerbomb, Roy then places Alex on the top rope but Alex attempts to block it but no

luck as Roy hits a massive bulldog, both men down for the count. WHAT A MATCH the crowd are going crazy. Alex puts Roy on the top and hits a beautiful hurrcanrana but only gets a 2 count, so close. Alex goes to hit a moonsault but Roy gets up in time, runs to the corner and hits a top rope belly to back suplex for another 2 count.

Roy hits a nice top rope assisted DDT for yet another 2 count. As Alex is getting up he his hit with a sweet superkick, yet another criss-cross this time ended with a

double clothesline, the action is fast and furious. Tommy tries his luck again but this time Roy sees through it and goes after him and Tank but this allows Alex to

get back to his feet and hit a lovely top rope tope to take out everyone, HOLY ****, HOLY ****. Back in the ring and Alex gets a 2 count, he goes to the top for a

moonsault but is caught by Roy who hits a tombstone for yet another 2 count, much to the delight of the crowd, Roy goes to the back and gets some chairs. Roy hits a

sweet looking air raid crash and sets up the chairs, he places Alex on a chair and hits a 2nd rope elbow, more chairs set up and Roy goes to the top but is stopped by

Alex who goes for a top rope hurrcanrana but its blocked, anything now is gonna end up bad for whoever and this time its the Chosen One as he is POWERBOMBED!!!! by the former WAW World Champ onto the chairs. This gives Roy his second and final public warning by the ref. Roy goes up top and hits a Zebra Crossing, he goes for the pin but Tommy Lee gets in and stops the count, with Tommy in the clutches of Roy and the ref trying to break it up, this allows fellow Midas stable member King Kendo to

come to ringside and hit Zebra with a kendo stick, just as Alex comes around he is able to get the pin and the win in what has to be match of the night and match of

the year candidate.

 

After intermission and before the Bellatrix showcase match, we are once again joined by the founder and owner of WAW, Ricky Knight who brings us into the emotional

part of the evening as we are introduced to the latest inductee of the WAW Hall Of Fame, a wrestler who only retired last Sunday due to losing a match against his

former partner Aaron Sharp and also to injuries, Scott Fusion. Scott got a standing ovation which was much deserverd, he has been a loyal empolyer to the Knight's for

the last 10years, he has had his up and downs in wrestling from being sidelined with a broken back to winning the WAW World Title as well as all other major titles in

the WAW. He is one of the underated guys in the UK scene who could fight you catch as can or brawl hardcore, go with the cruiserweights or stand toe to toe with the

biggest & baddest put in his way. Ive seen him wrestle in his first few matches and his last few , one thing can be said, THANK YOU Scott, Scott was inducted by Roy

Knight who much to his and the crowds surprise was also inducted into the Hall Of Fame, congrats to both guys who fully deserve it.

 

Match 4 sees a Bellatrix showcase featuring the number 1 contender to the Bellatrix British Title Blue Nikita against up and coming Chanel.

 

Chanel comes out of the blocks quick with 2 pin attempts and shows she is not intimidated by the Greek veteran. Chanel goes for a moonsault but Nikita gets out of the

way, Nikita hits Chanel with chops and hits a air raid crash, she goes to the top herself and is stopped by the Bellatrix British champ Sami Baynez who wheilds a kendo

stick, she is followed by Sweet Saraya who stops Sami, after the ref declars the match a no contest, Saraya makes the match between Nikita & Sami for Bellatrix 9 a

hardcore match.

 

Match 5 sees the Main event of the evening as the WAW World Champion is defeneded by the Anarchist Doug Williams w/Tommy Lee against the Hightlight Zak Knight w/Roy Knight-12x3min round.

 

This is Doug's first defence of the title he won in March agaisnt Steve Corino, Zak is looking for his 1st World title and to complete the Knight family title run, the winner of this match will face Steve Corino in October.

 

Round 1-Doug frustrates Zak by continuely going outside, Zak finally gets Doug inside with a sunset flip, 3 seconds later and Zak is in the lead, which frustrates Doug who attacks Zak after the bell.

 

Round 2-Doug continues the agression, shoulder tackles neither move either man, clothesline by Doug followed by a dropkick from Zak, Doug goes to the outside but is

quickly followed by Zak who takes control with chops and whipping Doug into the rail. Back in the ring and Doug starts working on the arm with expert precession, he is

using ropes which gives him his 1st public warning from the ref.

 

Round 3-Doug carries on where he left off in the previous round with the armbar. Zak manages to get kicks and punches in to get the Anarchist off his arm. Doug keeps

off the arm to hit a rolling running forearm followed by a running knee and a suplex, he goes for another suplex but Zak counter it, Zak puts Doug on the top rope and

goes for a hurrcanrana but Doug pushes him off and hits a top rope rolling forearm and get the pin to equalise the match.

 

Round 4-Doug starts off with a headlock and closed fist, attempted suplex by Doug countered by Zak, Doug throws Zak outside but as Zak is coming in, Tommy grabs the

leg which makes Zak trap his leg in the ropes.

 

Round 5-Doug starts the round off attacking and working on the surgurically repaired knee, crowd fully behind Zak to make the comeback. Doug applies the figure 4

leglock, woo woo woo. Zak will never quit, he will not have his destiny taken away. Tree of woe by Doug which allows him to continue to work over the knee. Single leg

crab, crowd chanting please dont tap.

 

Round 6-Enzuguri by Zak but his momentum is soon ended as Doug dropkicks the knee followed by a stretch muffler, Zak will not tap. Zak's mother Sweet Saraya appears in the crowd pleading with Roy Knight to throw in the towel, she has seen her son go through enough, the crowd plead no and that Zak can get through this, in a fit of emotion, Saraya grabs the towel from Roy and throws it in the ring, ending the match and her sons dreams.

 

After the match Zak gives a heart felt speech on how he never been good enough, on how all his family have won world titles, on how his sister has become a big star in

WWE and dramaticly quits wrestling and WAW, his father and brother try to plead with him but its no good, the crowd are shell shocked.

 

Match 6 is the Crusher Mason 40 man Royal Rumble.

 

1. Phil Powers 2. Hotstuff-Lasted well over 35mins

 

the 2 veterans start off the rumble, Hotsuff is 100% the crowd fav, Phil as always popular with the Norfolk crowd. 1 year ago Hotstuff made his return to wrestling and

WAW and has since become the WAW British Tag Team Champion with My Sexy Tony Valetine. I will try and keep up with the action as best as possible and i apoligise if i

miss or get names wrong.

Final 5-Bud, Phil, Paul T, Joey & Alex. Phil has been in for over 40 mins. Zak Knight's music starts and distracts everyone which allows bud to eliminate The Essex Boys. Joey is eliminated by Bud who then distarcts the ref while Bud throws out Alex, the refs dont see as Joey is causing a scene on the outside. Alex gets back in and tries to eliminate Bud but he manages to stay in. Bud gets his balanace back and manages to slam Alex over the top and after 46mins of action, Hooligan Bud is the winner of the Crusher Mason Trophy and is awarded the trophy by Crusher's daughters.

 

The Midas Stable come out and circle the ring but are soon out numbered by Ricky Knight and Team WAW, Tommy tells Ricky that he has a plan b which turns out to be the Polish Monster Gorgon, Gorgon walks towards Tommy but stops in front of Ricky and kneels before him, turning his alligance to WAW, Tommy and the Midas stable turn tail and leave with there tails between there legs.

 

The action was once again wall to wall, not a bad match on the card. WAW returns to Norwich & Epic Studios in October. WAW returns to action on Friday in Thetford,

Fakenham on Sunday and the Academy show on Sunday in Costessey. Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed the review and the show if you were there.

what a fantastic weekend for WAW Wrestling over 1100 through the doors, not an import in sight, at the best venue in the UK bar none.Kidmania drawing over 200, when we started the kids club we were criticised to hell well two fingers to you all now and watch other promotions follow suit, its not the first time WAW Have led the way Bellatrix again drew over 200 a regular crowd for them now building from 30 in 2011. WAW Was again a sell out which is now a regular thing at Epic with some great matches and a historic 40 man rumble, thankyou to all the people who made this weekend possible and to all our fabulous fans for their loyal support we are nothing without you.

on a side note if Alex Young is not in the Davy Smith trophy there is something wrong the kid is sensational.
