Horrible shame if true.  The Wall Street Journal are reporting it, as are many other trustworthy sources.  Award-winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead Sunday afternoon in his New York City apartment, a law-enforcement official said. The New York Police Department is investigating, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine exact cause of death. The official said Mr. Hoffman, 46 years old, was found dead at his apartment at 35 Bethune St. in the West Village neighborhood of Manhattan He was brilliant in pretty much everything he was in; Boogie Nights being one my favourite roles of his. Sadly, if the rumours are true, it looks like he (like so many others) was done in by pills. That escalated to heroin use earlier this month, at which point he says he realized he had a problem. The Four Horsemen Posted February 2, 2014 Share Posted February 2, 2014 Such a shame, he was one of those actors who could do both very serious roles, through to his comedy roles in Along Cam Polly where he IMO played the faded 80's film star brilliantly.
