Paid Members mim731 Posted November 4, 2013 Paid Members Posted November 4, 2013 Ok, so as some of you know I'm getting married next year, which is all very exciting. However, while we have managed to get everything else organised, neither me or my fiancee can settle on a good song for our first dance. Both of us want to avoid having anything too cheesy, but it also needs to be something appropriate. I've had a few ideas, but nothing that has been mutually agreeable as the best option. Â So I was hoping the UKFF's boldest and brightest might be willing to put forward some suggestions if anyone has any? Â Genre is not important, I'll consider anything that might be the right choice for it. Â Thanks in advance!
Tim Healys Chutney Spoon Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 We had the original, and the best version, version of "Unchained Melody" by the Righteous Brothers. Â Others that were highly discussed and almost made the cut: Â All for Love - Sting, Rod Stewart, Bryan Adams Everything I do - Bryan Adams (We both love this song, but the problem was her best friend got married about 5 weeks before us and nicked it!!!)
Moderators PowerButchi Posted November 4, 2013 Moderators Posted November 4, 2013 If I were to ever get married, I'd have God Only Knows by The Beach Boys. Best love song ever at a canter.
Paid Members Duke Posted November 4, 2013 Paid Members Posted November 4, 2013 If I were to ever get married, I'd have God Only Knows by The Beach Boys. Best love song ever at a canter. that is an excellent decision, and far beyond my suggestion, forever by chris brown. Â I kid. Â Mostly.
Bohan Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 We had a Bon Jovi tribute band play our wedding with "thank you for loving me" as our first dance. Your choice of first dance really should be something which means something to you as a couple.
Paid Members mim731 Posted November 4, 2013 Author Paid Members Posted November 4, 2013 Cheers guys! Â God only knows is definitely a possibility, Â We don't really have a 'song' per se, so both racking our brains to find something we both like.
Paid Members PunkStep Posted November 4, 2013 Paid Members Posted November 4, 2013 Just The Way You Are. Billy Joel version, obvs, not Barry White.
Paid Members herbie747 Posted November 4, 2013 Paid Members Posted November 4, 2013 Stevie Wonder: http://youtu.be/LDWfvBaPApQ
Paid Members Accident Prone Posted November 4, 2013 Paid Members Posted November 4, 2013 'First Day Of My Life' by Bright Eyes would be my suggestion. Honest, poetic, real and pretty catching. Perfect.
The Four Horsemen Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Me and the other half have decided on Etta James - "At Last"
Bohan Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Lifehouse "You and me" is always a popular choice.
dopper Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Me and the other half have decided on Etta James - "At Last" Â The one & only year I watched X Factor, some weirdo called Katie put me off that song forever. Â We had "Running" by No Doubt for our first dance.
