king_dezeeuw06
It was a good line up, shame more people werent there to see it, especiall'y since that area is one place crying out for a good regular wrestling company. I spoke to one local guy who said he hadn't seen any posters up around the town, so his theory on the attendance was the local people just didn't know the event was on. Not sure if that is the case or not but whatever the reason the show deserved more fans than it got. Â It was still a good show and most of the guys still worked hard to give the fans value for their tickets. Â The best match for me was Bodom vs Cole. We know how good Cole is but Bodom had no problem keeping up with him and didn't look out of place. Bodom is improving every time you see him and looks set to be a top star on the UK scene. Â Cabana isn't doing much for me as champion, was hoping for a Marty win, but although Marty is pretty good at playing the heel I find it hard I to boo him in Rev Pro as he has been the main man there for so long. With the other top faces Zack, Devitt and Cabana only semi regular Marty seems like he needs to be carrying the flag for the company. And with Rev Pro priding itself on match quality, Marty was always reliable to steal the show but his heel persona doesn't let him have those matches as easily. I like Marty he is an effective heel but in Rev Pro I think he suits being a face more than anywhere else as he has a natural fast paced, exciting in ring style that embodies the company. Â Sha's character work is great and he is brilliant playing off the crowd and had very entertaining match with Chucky but wish his matches wouldn't always have screwy finishes. Â Was cool to see Forever Hooligans, they were great live and although they had a good match with Ego, in front on a bigger crowd with hot atmosphere you know it could be even better. A rematch on a future York hall show could be amazing. Â Thanks to Rev Pro for coming up north, i doubt they will come back to Castleford but hopefully the idea of taking rev pro to different locations around the country will continue. Â There were a couple of announcements made but they said they were announcing them today so I will let them announce it rather than say anything. Andy
For the record in terms of promotion guys we had 5,000 door to door leaflets distributed, 3 x adverts in local papers, local radio coverage, banner outside the building & posters around town and at the other wakefield council venues. Â Add to this one of the strongest top to bottom cards we've put on and we thought we were on to a winner! Â Sometimes things just don't work out. Fortunately for us we were still able to put a great card of action & we hope that many more fans will be able to see it by the wonders of DVD! Â We now look forward to next weeks final hall show of 2013 in Sittingbourne as well as our huuuuuge line up for York Hall, where I'm pleased to say we are on track for another attendance record! Not the typical crowd that could build a fan base up north for yourselves.  Local radio and newspapers I would assume would be used by the more older demographic, so therefore likely to raise interest for parents to take the children to (Which was definitely the case).  As for the advertising outside. I wasn't sure I was at the right venue as there was nothing really obvious to say there was a wrestling show on, even in the lobby, there were no posters to put my mind at ease. It was a good show for everyome who did make it and just unfortunate it didn't turn out like it should in terms of numbers.

BREMENMURRAY
Most of the fans at this event had traveled from outside Castleford. Possibly the cost of the tickets put local fans off but of course with such top class wrestlers it was cheap at the price

Granted it was dark and I walked through the small car park in front of the entrance.
Dan88
Really enjoyed this show, shame about the attendance but it could have been worse. I came from Sheffield which took me just under an hour but I'm definitely thinking about coming to the upcoming shows down london way if I've got the money. Â Opening contest featured ROH Champion Adam Cole take on Josh Bodom. Really really good showing from both men and thought they put on a great match with some sweeet back and forth moves. This was definitely match of the night for me. Â Second match had Uhaa Nation wrestle Rampage Brown. Good solid match, haven't seen much of Uhaa before but damn he's a great highflyer for a big man. Â In the main event of the first half we had Colt Cabana defend his title against Marty Scurll. I really thought this was going to be the main event for the whole show. This was a really good bout. I really thought Scurll was going to walk away with the strap with all the momentum and hype for him going into this. I'd love to see a rematch and to see Scurll take the win. Â First match back after the interval. Chuck Taylor vs Sha Samuels. This was very entertaining with the character work from Sha Samuels. Probably the weakest match on the card but still a fun watch. Â Next up was Hiromu Takahashi vs Mark Haskins. I was really looking forward to seeing Dar vs Takahashi but when he pulled out and Haskins replaced him I was made up. This was a good match with really good storytelling as Haskins worked Takahashis arm. Â Main event had Forever Hooligans vs Project Ego. Was surprised this was the main event over Scurll and Cabana though. This match was exactly what I expected when it was announced. Fast paced and quick action and full or strikes, dives and highspots. This was a very solid main event and would love to see Forever Hooligans back in the near future. TysonSL
I enjoyed the show. Regardless of whether the lack of a crowd was down to advertising or disinterest from the locals, I thought it was quite depressing to see so few people at one of my favourite promotions. Luckily, those there were loud and seemed to have a good time. Â Bodom really impressed me here. I was a little surprised to see him get an import, but when every match has an import it's probably not that strange. I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do when he's not stuck in an El Ligero mask moving forward. Â Uhaa vs Brown was quite good too, but I've seen much better from Uhaa this tour. Â I wasn't a fan of the title match. We went hoping that Marty would win the title, but when we saw only 61 people in the crowd we knew there was never going to be a title change even if it was originally planned. But regardless of the outcome I thought the match was poor. Colt does nothing for me, but this is his fault rather than it being a personal thing, as I was chanting with the rest of them when he won the title back in March. Add that to Marty seemingly stopping any of the decent wrestling that made him such fun to watch over the last few months. Â Sha vs Chucky T was great. Loads of laughs. Â Haskins to me is RevPro these days. He's the main person from the old days that I still look forward to seeing. Since the Leaders pretty much split and Devitt can't be brought in every time, Haskins is one of the main reasons I travel such a distance on a regular basis as he's always reliable and entertaining. Great match with Takahashi. Â The main event was great too. Project Ego are the other standouts of RevPro, and I loved seeing the Forever Hooligans seemingly enjoying themselves so much. I felt sorry for Andy when Kirby's head went through the wall as I'm sure he made a loss on this show even before repair bills were sent out. Â Overall, as I said it was sad to see so few people here, but the wrestlers went above and beyond what they needed to do to get the crowd involved and put on a good show. Â That's the second new territory RevPro have tried after the St Ives show, and probably another one they won't return to. To make it worse, both have been at venues that played host to Dragon Gate UK, showing that there are people willing to travel to each venue for the right show. In my mind it's got to come down to price. They've established themselves in Sittingbourne, etc so can justify those prices. But who would pay that much for an unknown promotion? I can see why locals were put off here.
