Bryan's current run reminds me of the quote "a wrestler is at their best when the character they're portraying is just their natural personality, ramped up to 100". You can tell he's loving it, and you can tell it matches his personality down to the ground.

It's been a brilliant gimmick change. He was always far, far too talented not to make whichever scenario they threw at him work. The Chamber announcement was great as well, it's really refreshing to be at this stage of the year and the big Wrestlemania matches not being blindingly obvious. Although I can't see Ali or Hardy winning, any four of Bryan/AJ/Joe/Orton I could reasonably see winning, which makes such a nice change compared to the narrative of past years being "ROMAN HEADLINES FOR THE BELT".

ISmackdown was insane.

But I love it all. Bryan, Charlotte and Becky Lynch are probably the most compelling main event characters in a couple of decades for me. The knee brace is such a simple small detail but it's one of the best things about this angle. Long term selling feels like a rarity, and it makes you forget that she tapped out and Charlotte Flaired her way into the royal rumble. Now she's the hero that overcome the odds on one good leg. Jab! Becky is the coolest babyface in God knows how long. Charlotte's got that emotionally charged energy that her dad had during his unhinged Nitro days. I don't get how people don't rate her as a promo, she was pulling all the best Stephanie McMahon moves here.

Truth wins the U.S. belt with a classic WCW finish! I've gotta say I'm quite happy to see an R Truth title run. He's been around forever, he's still over enough to get smarks booing Rusev (who is a heel this week) and he can make any old shit entertaining. The constant heel/face flipping on these shows is doing my nut in though. The fifty shades bullshit so you can flip guys alignment when it's convenient. No angle or explanation.  Rusev, Nak and Lana sounds like a fun act though, gives the division a fresh heel team. Heavy Machinery are looking like an enjoyable addition too. Holy shit, give me more Otis vs Big E!

Was I the only one feeling tense watching that Shane and Miz segment? I was convinced Shane was gonna lamp the old man and turn heel there. Miz looked apprehensive too. This show felt nutty enough for it to happen.

The end was amazing. Joe does it again. Honestly give this guy a world tile run before its too late, he's still fucking a cut above. Looked like they got short on time and had to cut off but I dug the feel of spontaneity, with Bryan going into his promo early while people were hitting their finishers. The new belt looks absolutely gorgeous.

I can't wait to find out that Daniel Bryan's little band of super soldiers are being funded by George Soros.

The moment he started alluding to it, I hoped and prayed they'd actually make Bryan his vegan championship belt. Never could I have imagined it'd be so beautiful though. Hopefully they went to the effort of making it becuase Bryan is pencilled in for a long run. In his current form, I'd make him champion for at least three to four years.

Becky's suckpunch was spectacular. It's almost a shame they had the subsequent brawl because it would've been even better if she just got in her car and drove off straight afterwards.

Samoa Joe RINSING everyone in his promo was incredible. Has a man ever proven himself more? He's utterly brilliant. Turn him face and put him with Bryan ASAP.

As always, you'd never believe the same company produces Raw and Smackdown. The difference in quality is unbelievable.

Smackdown is a superb production at the moment. I've seldom enjoyed a character as much as I am enjoying The New Vegan Daniel Bryan. The new title belt is one of the best things they've done in years and his mic work is second to none. He is so great at chewing the scenery that he quashed (with ease) the rising chants of an arsehole crowd trying to get themselves over during his promo. Samoa Joe is incredible as well.

I am saddened by how much of a jobber Nakamura is nowadays. I hate his new music and any intrigue or aura he once had is well and truly snuffed out. I wonder if he is partly to blame, as I'm now believing the chat that he views WWE as a skive and that he can get away with doing minimal work.

The way he stopped giving a shit months ago, I fully believe Nakamura's new gear is to hide the fact that he's not even trying to keep up a decent physique anymore.

I predicted that Nakamura would leave WWE (and that was more of a throw away prediction) this year but I honestly wouldn't be shocked if they just get shot of him or just job him out/keep him on the couch.

Can't believe that I'm even posting that.

The more I look at that Hemp belt, the more I love it. The more I see fans on twitter getting salty about it, I take another look at the belt and I love it a little more.

Ive said it a lot recently, but I’m now fully convinced that Nakamura is done whenever his deal is up, which is apparently at some point this year

The hemp title is the best thing. I was hoping after the Rumble that he'd bring out a vegan leather belt or something, but they've exceeded expectations there.

Samoa Joe's promo was superb. The best thing about his mic work is that it's not the stop-start, wait for crowd approval, cadence of every WWE promo, it's just a terrifying man with the confidence to say whatever he likes. He sounds real.

Really? I've only seen positive things about it.

Agree with the Joe love. He absolutely deserves a run with the title. He's been top draw for 2 years now. Amazing how both he and AJ are still going strong.

I never expected Joe to win the title during his run with AJ, mainly because I thought they were dead set on keeping the belt on AJ until post-Royal Rumble so he'd wipe out CM Punk's record. I didn't expect them to switch it to Daniel Bryan for the same reason. In retrospect it would have been a great time to put the belt on Joe. Still, his ability to command the mic and his unique style mean he'll always look like a threat and you'll always take him seriously in the title picture. You could have him do a few jobs over two or three months, and with just a few minutes on the mic and when he turns on that intensity, you believe he could batter and humble anyone you put in front of him. Fingers crossed he gets at least one title run before he packs it in.

Smackers remains the A show. Enjoy it while it lasts because when the shakeup comes post-Wrestlemania it could decimate them. Or, it could go the other way and become even better - they'll want a strong contingent ready for the move to Fox later in the year, so maybe they'll put the building blocks in place for that?

Every year we think Smackdown is going to get decimated in the Draft and every year they end up the better of the brands.

It's not about the roster, it's about how you book them.

A million times better than Raw, again.

Every show is the Becky show at the moment. I honestly don't know what they'd have done this Wrestlemania season if they hadn't accidentaly stumbled upon The Man. Imagine these shows if they'd had their way and Becky was still playing the cowardly heel they wanted her to be around September last year!

Becky looked boss coming out through the crowd. That's another one for the "angles you love," thread. Everyone looks a star coming through the crowd. The staredown and slap to Hunter was great too. I'm more convinced than ever that they're going to crowbar Charlotte into the match, which is a shame, but at least we'll still (hopefully!) get the big moment where Becky wins in the final match of the night by tapping out or KO'ing Ronda.

I can't fucking wait for Andrade vs. Mysterio on PPV.

Daniel Bryan continues to be fantastic. They should sell replicas of that belt.

Joe needs to go to Raw, become Champion and save that show.

That finish to Ali vs. Orton felt almost too good to do on free TV. They should've saved that for the Chamber. Ali's really something special though, isn't he? This was one of Orton's more enjoyable matches in ages. Seems even Orton himself was too excited about having a match that left second gear though. Look what he did to poor Ali's face!

Anyway, all that aside, let's get to the most noteworthy thing about this show. Billie Kay. What on Earth was that?!? Has she always been this shit and I've just never noticed before? She was unbelievably bad last night. The state of that bump she took to the outside, somewhere even Nia Jax was probably taking the piss.
