The King of Old School
Read that there were "real fans" in attendance this week along with a few from the performance centre.
Yakashi
This company never ceases to amaze me. Flat out refusing to let anyone wear masks at the shows and refusing to carry out testing and then someone at the show tests positive and they have to cancel the next set of tapings. Absolute scum. Winston
The Edge and Orton storyline has been fantastic, such a shame it's been mainly behind closed doors. Great caveat to involve Christian in it this week. With Edge's injuries maybe another Rumble return leading to another Mania match with Orton could be the answer. Paid Members BomberPat Posted June 16, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted June 16, 2020 yeah, in some ways it could be a blessing in disguise to almost hit the reset button on his return, that way he gets to come back in front of a live crowd again, and him being back will still feel fresh and exciting, rather than potentially losing all its novelty before the fans come back. CavemanLynn
It's a shame it's taken a legitimate injury to force it, but it makes perfect sense for Edge to have to head away. It's the logical next step angle-wise after falling short. Orton's got plenty of ammo for the next few months, with the option that he falls back into his old lackadaisical ways but actually start getting frustrated by it, as if he needs Edge to retain his, er, edge. Fuck it. I'm fantasy-booking again.
Paid Members BomberPat Posted June 16, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted June 16, 2020 I'm more worried about what they do with Orton next than Edge, actually. If he can keep up this level of intensity and character work until Edge comes back, happy days, but if he gets dragged down into the mire of 50/50 booking and not giving a shit, they're going to have to work to heat this one back up again when Edge is back. CavemanLynn
I'd be happy with him starting strong, but after a month he starts losing to silly rollups. Then punts his opponent and yells "Stupid!" over and over again at himself.
The Cutting Edge
Orton has been great since mid last year, really seems to give a shit, as said have Orton beat Drew at say Survivor Series, subtley setting up Edge Rumble return and Win and that's your wwe title match set, yeah it doesn't build to the future but they weren't this year for both top titles. Otherwise pretty solid show....speaking of Show...Why was Big Show there? Could Viking Profits not handle 4 midget ninjas and a big guy (who looks like Titus), very strange
Paid Members Supremo Posted June 16, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted June 16, 2020 It’s absolutely amazing how Orton can switch it on and become the best thing in the company. The only problem is that whenever he’s done this in the past it hasn’t lasted very long. In a perfect scenario he’d keep it up until Edge came back, maybe winning the Title in the meantime. Imagine the match they could have in front of fans at Wrestlemania next year!
Briefcase
Edge was only on limited match deal wasn't he? Something like 3 matches a year which he has already done now. So not sure what the plan would have been if he didn't get injured? Maybe the plan was for Orton to punt him in the head and put him out of action anyway until the Rumble? FUM
Still not convinced on the attitude since Drew has been Champion that he's scared/not willing to defend his title. Enjoyed RAW overall though. Less wrestling actually helped it along.
WyattSheepMask
Fuck it, stick him on Smackdown and put the Universal belt on him, he can hold down the fort until Reigns comes back. No-one gives a shit about Strowman, Brocks off living in the woods, AJ Styles can have the Midcard belt, Orton’s the biggest full time star they have at the moment
