That’s where I land on this. Yes, the blood looked fake. Yes, the biting was silly. Yes, it was daft to have her steal an ambulance to drive to the hospital and back in the space of an hour. It was also borderline cute the way she could barely see over the steering wheel when she drove back in.

This still felt like a big angle though. And it made Becky feel like a bigger star than she has done in ages. Honestly, other than the Sasha feud, I can barely remember anything she’s done in months. If nothing else, this positioned her as on a level above the rest of the nobodies, which hasn’t been the case in fucking forever.

Don't get me wrong. She’s still a shell of the woman who said, “I choose you,” to Ronda, but I’d still rather she was a Stone Cold knock-off than the non-entity she’s been for the longest time. LOL at her doing the Rock Bottom, too. Heyman’s clearly been watching late 90s RAW on the Network. Her and Shayna will probably be doing Buried Alive matches by April or May.

Outside of when he beat people up to steal their vehicle, I somewhat assumed things like the beer truck/zomboni, etc, were part of Austin being the 'man of the people' against McMahon. Like, McMahon has paid crooked referees and bodyguards, but Austin is able to ask someone "Hey, can I borrow your truck to teach this millionaire asshole a lesson?....and can you show me how the hose on this thing works?"

That’s very good in theory, but Stone Cold was an absolute bullying prick to everyone. Total ASBO case, just giving people hidings for nothing, whether they were wrestlers, production staff, security guards, cops, bystanders, someone’s spouse, his spouse etc. Someone on here just the other day was complaining that babyface characters now are decent human beings, when they should be arseholes like Rock and Austin.

Like rick says, robbing ambulances is an established wrestling trope and crying about the logic of it is the realm of whiney bell-ends who just complain about everything, and they also most likely watch child porn and deserve a painful death - especially when there’s the shite vampire bit to complain about already there. Like BomberPat said, WWE vehicle drama is also an overdone thing and is a bit shit. But like Supremo said, it’s still a step up from the nothing they usually do with The Man.

Although personally, I liked the (broad strokes of the) storyline with her needing to prove herself against Asuka.

That was something that they really got right and I was hoping that was the start of getting Lynch back on track. I'm willing to overlook the slight misfire this week knowing that her work with Shayna should be great. Hopefully.

I'm not sold on them as a combo ever since they were shite at Survivor Series, I wouldn't put that all on Bayley. Prior to that, I'd have been well up for Becky Lynch vs Shayna Baszler though, and I'm hoping they do better this time.

Unless they gimmick it up, Becky/Baszler doesn’t need to go longer than five minutes. That could get ugly. Just give Shayna the dominant win. Give me NXT Baszler. Lynch can take the loss and could do with a change in direction anyway. The Man’s dying off and she feels more like Seth Rollins by the week.

Is Rusev in trouble again? He lost and lost and is now nowhere to be seen while Lashley/Lana/Liv seem to have all moved on.

Proper filler stuff this week. Very dull.

You've been able to track progression over the last six weeks but very little moved last night.

Liked Becky and Shayna's promos but even they weren't that good. Opening was ok although they somehow went from great heat for Orton to getting him cheers and "one more time" chants. Drew is still over with the crowd but they are being too cute with him and you can just feel it turning when they're in front of one of the "smart" crowds.

Worst thing about the show was the dizzying cuts to the crowd. During Orton's entrance, I got motion sickness. It's less than a second per cut, I'm sure.

Poor Rusev.

Announcing that women’s elimination chamber match seems very clunky, considering they already kicked off the Becky-Shayna feud last week. I feel they should either not have booked the foregone-conclusion contender match at all, or waited until the next night for Shayna to do the vampire bite. If they needed a Raw side chamber match, the tag titles would do.

The rot has already set in for Owens and friends vs Rollins and friends. It can’t have been going that long but because it’s the same thing every week, it reminds me of that period during KO’s Universal title run where every Raw for months was headlined by some variation of him and Jericho vs Reigns and Rollins.

I like Angel Garza’s ladies man character, but I’m a bit confused by it. I saw a clip recently of him getting engaged in the ring at NXT, but now he’s all about not being tied down to one woman? Was that just a YouTube off-air exclusive rather than part of the episode?

Fair play to Riddick Moss. I bought a wrestling sticker book about three years ago and he looked like he was about 50 in that, but he seems a lot younger now. I’ll see if I can find the promo picture. Edit: It was a Slam Attax card.

I feel that Drew has turned into the really cringe, change the channel babyface that we all knew he would already.

He needs to go into Mania and destroy Brock in a short match to get any sort of momentum going I think, getting suplexed about for 20 minutes ala AJ/Bryan/Rollins etc isn't going to cut it.

Stop the clock. It’s over for Drew before it’s even begun. It’s been touch and go since The Rumble but last night confirmed it. He can’t overcome it. No-one can. He’s doomed to failure, as is every top babyface until Vince pops his clogs.

Watching Drew morph into this lame, dorky jokester, I’m left wondering if Vince McMahon has any real friends. I’m convinced he must cut the oddest, most tragic David Brent/Alan Partridge figure around the office because his idea of what constitutes cool and likeable is so fucking weird.

Even stuff that should be fun like ironically pointing at the Wrestlemania sign. They still somehow manage to perfectly pitch it as awkward and desperate as possible. I know people will blame the fans when they eventually turn on Drew, and the argument will be that even when given something new they still cry and moan, but bollocks. The crux is that this company is chronically awful at scripting top babyfaces. Suffering. Succotash.

@King Pitcos that Slam Attax card looks like a rejected Paul Whitehouse character from The Fast Show.

You can already hear the Roman reaction from the crowd. Sure, Drew isn’t getting booed, but they are far too muted for someone who is aiming to be top baby face and headlining Mania.

Again, another 20 minute look how out of control Orton is segment. Orton once allegedly shat in someone’s bag in the locker room, and still no one from the back wanted to help Matt Hardy. Just weird booking.

also agreed with the elimination chamber comments. Why announce that after already setting up Shana?
