The Official UKFF RAW Thread...

I feel like of we did have women just being eye cabdy and sex symbols Scotswizard would be on the opposite side of the fence.

As said times are very different and how socially responsible any company has to be has changed. Gone is objectification, homophobia to some extent, offensive angles and pointing fun of disabled people etc. Having a sex symbol character now would need to be handled very differently. Would it be even worth upsetting g charities like Susan G Coman over it?

Besides for years and years anything women based has been piss break time. Perhaps since the early days of Trish.

Back then with dial up internet trying g to rub one out to her appearance on smack down or a wee mag centre fold was sad but now with the plethora of internet porn I can just pause raw and rub one out or better yet wait till my fiancee is home and pray she isn't tired.

Do the girls these days look sexy? For the most part yes. Ive hsd plenty of naughty thoughts about Sasha banks, Alexa Bliss, Nikki Bella hell ive even let my mind wander to Nia Jax and Bayley but I definitely enjoy how they are portrayed now a lot more and even with their flaws on the Raw side woman have much more style and personality now than the bimbo era bar a few exceptions. Going back right now would never work.

Although I'm sure voce does want one, wasn't Lana pegged to transform to this kind of role once.

Anyway If you do want that world of days gone by the network offers it and I'm sure your grand kids could set it up for you

Please don't lump me in with Shitswizard, but I don't see the harm in bringing in more hot girls. As long as they bring something to the table other than just being hot. Maryse could easily fit into that category of random hot girl, but she has her character nailed and as such is part of one of the best acts in the company.

As long as the women aren't being shoved in random bikini contests or offensive stories they definitely have space more more "eye candy." Not every woman has to be a super worker, just like not every male needs to have been dropped on his head in ROH.

Why would the charities have a problem? It's a TV show. It's not a sport. It's a TV show therefore it should have as many different characters as possible.

No doubt it's aimed at kids. It is a kid's show on at night.

And before anyone brings up WWE's stockholders or them being a public company, the WWE has been a public company since October 1999 and from October 1999 right through to when they made Raw and PPVS PG again in July 2008 I can list many nasty, violent, offensive and sexual things they did on the show and they still had hot women who were nice to look at doing nothing wrong on the show. It's nothing to do with sponsors or advertisers or being a public company but everything to do with how they book the show.

I don't think any of us really have a problem with it, it's just scotswizard yelling at a cloud again

Loads of us praise Eva Marie even though she's poor in the ring. It's a pity she seems to have burned her last bridge after the wellness

The pure sex appeal gimmick can easily work, but it'd be a heel gimmick in today's climate rather than getting puppies chants from salivating virgins macho serial-shaggers

Get some heat on Mandy Rose, she seems ideal for such a thing

Personal values have changed so much though in the last 15 years WWE is always behind the times in some ways so they kept some shit going way past its sell by date.

The characters can be outlandish varied and interesting but don't need to be too offensive. You can't please everyone and we shouldn't be overly sensitive but shareholders can get in amd out these days a lot quicker. One wrong error and people sell and the value of the company drops which for a number of reasons is terrible. Sponsors leave and it's a downward drop.Stockholders don't generally care about ethics as much as profit but ethics affect sponsorship deals etc which affects profit which affects stock price. Simple business

The charities would not want to be seen with a show, product, brand that does something to contradict their cause. Eg Greenpeace wouldn't work with Texaco or a domestic abuse charity work with brazzers.

Genuine question. What are any of you getting out of replying to or acknowledging scotswizard?

I imagine this is him every time one of you reacts.

I could be wrong but I honestly think he's a thick jaded 'fan' who sucks off Russos podcast rather than a troll

That's some fucking effort for a troll and there's loads of other wrestling forums where people would take the bait way more. Either way, he's a fucking anomaly

No love for the festival of friendship or Joe segments? Raw felt a notch fresher. It all does now we've got past the eternal Rollins/Reigns V Owens/Jericho business

I was going to ask the same thing Matrix. Reading these forums is a hell of a lot easier and more enjoyable when I see scotswizard's name pop up and then continue to scroll for a few minutes until I'm onto the next post.

Sj Numbers has his reasons that he stated, that he thinks scotswizard isn't a troll, and each to their own and everything but I think we're enabling him, and he's getting exactly the reaction he wants.

Anyway, Raw was pretty good this week I thought. The Festival of Friendship was superb. It really was done very well. I can't wait to see Jericho try and get back at Owens now so job done.

Strowman, Reigns and Mark Henry all had a good night.

Samoa Joe cut one of the best promos on Raw in a long time from one of the 'newer' talents (as in not Heyman, HHH, Cena etc). Completely believeable and conveyed perfectly the man he is meant to be. I like where they are going with him and Zayn.

Cesaro and Enzo? Jesus christ. Enzo is useless. His promo entered New Day territory for me this week where I wanted to slap him. Hopefully that was a one off though and it isn't as annoying next week.

I thought it was a decent show. Enjoyed both those brilliant segments, them finding something different to do with Roman, the Strowman/Henry hoss match and the Zayn/Joe setup.

Didn't like Steph's involvement at all, particularly that fucking abysmal Teddy Long "impression", or the really, really, really obvious Women's main event title change ... again.

Seems a bit pointless in saying it now, but the Festival of Friendship was outstanding and is the best thing I've seen from Jericho...well probably ever. Even better than him in his 1999 pomp. The 'Why is my name on the list?' line was quite heart wrenching, and the crowd reaction from silence to 'awwwwww' as they realised what was happening added to it. The closest thing I can think of to this was this Jorah Mormont moment from Game of Thrones a couple of seasons ago (don't worry, no spoilers):

I would struggle to count 10 matches on my fingers that I could name off the top of my head.

I need to start reading the forum at home instead of just when I'm pretending to do my job. This quote is just wonderful. Even this lass could name one wrestling match.

This fucker. It's the wrong type of heat, she is the most convoluted, confusing character in Wrestling and the quicker she has a new sprog and fucks off TV the better, big footing every segment the clump. When she used to do the Bryan YES impressions all the time, it's fucking go away heat and the slag don't realise it because she is so self absorbed. I really want her to have a match with Asuka and get kicked to all hell.
