He isn't universally loved by Indians as Hollywood would have you believe, many feel he sold them down the river and was a corrupt self serving fucker  I think you missed my point a bit. I meant his aims were independence and he did it peacefully. Whether he sold them out or anything like that isn't what I was saying. I probably should have made that clearer.
