Does it all have to stay together too? Although it would make historical packages really tricky could Corgan just buy the timeslot, deal with Universal, titles and wrestlers contracts, WWE buy the tape library and he changes the name or something. Debts gone and it could keep going?

I don't really understand why anyone apart from Vince would want to buy TNA, other than a money mark who's happy to lose x amount of dollars per year just so he/she can have their own promotion (see: Ted Turner). Has the company ever had a long period of sustained profit, or even made a profit at all?

No. TNA was going to go under a few months after it started, until Dixie Carter (a publicist working for the company at the time) convinced her parents to buy a majority of the company and keep it afloat for years. Mr and Mrs Carter were happy enough keeping Dixie in business until the big push for expansion started in 2010, which was a massive, expensive failure and the company has just bled money ever since.

I think the only time it turned a profit was when Spike upped the money and they signed a video game deal. For anyone not mental, you'd probably have went "hold your cards, lads, we're finally making some money." But they ploughed through that very quick bringing in about a million ex-WWFers.

It's not that I want to see the promotion go under, the more promotions there are for up & comers to ply their trade can only be a good thing in the grand scheme of things.

The thing that needs to go is TNA and the awful reputation that it has accumulated over the years. Years of wasted opportunities, broken promises and horrendous decision making. Like Pictos alluded, if Panda Energy didn't take care of the financials for so long, they would have gone under years ago.

Fucks knows how much the Carters/Panda Energy have lost on it over the years.

The promotion just always seemed to have ideas above its station, failing to realise that it was in reality nothing more than a large indie fed. The move to Monday nights for the so called second Monday night war should have been the realisation that they were nowhere near the level they thought they were. What was it? 10 weeks before they moved it back to Thursdays?

And some of the people they had on the roster at that time too-

Sting, Kurt Angle, RVD, Jeff Hardy, Ric Flair, Booker T, Mick Foley, Kevin Nash, Hulk fucking Hogan!

All massive names in the industry, but the majority were past their prime and from an era that was long past its shelf life. It wasn't so much the WWE alternative as it was the Discount WWE.

They just couldn't get the absolute basics right times. Faces booked in advantageous positions in massive gimmick matches, AJ Styles v RVD- a PPV worthy World title match thrown away on free TV with no build whatsoever.

The reputation/name it has is just so fucking toxic, it needs to put out of its misery. And if Billy Corgan does buy it (which I don't think will happen), he needs to start from scratch in every way

not sure if this is true or not

TNA Wrestling has managed to survive for just a bit longer. It was reported last night that TNA would go forth with their upcoming television tapings, especially TNA Bound for Glory. Dixie Carter herself made the announcement about the tapings and PPV, which has been in question for the entire week due to the fact that the company lacked funds to even put on these shows. You need money for things to go, and with TNA not having any, they really needed a miracle to happen.

Apparently TNA prays to a good God, because now this buys them a lot of time. TNA will tape shows that will get them most likely through the middle of December, which means that they have more time to negotiate with people trying to buy up the business. Carter was backed into a corner and it felt like TNA was going to sell for a lesser amount than what Dixie wanted due to the pressure around her to make a deal.

Dixie has teased big things at the TNA TV tapings, which is not surprising because she talks up big announcements for TNA every other week now. Usually it is nothing of major importance, however, these upcoming tapings could deliver something of interest. The question is, how did TNA get funding? According to the New York Post, a yet to be identified company or person gave TNA the money to get things going. This must have cost a lot of money for them, which means we could have another bidder involved in this entire thing.
