Newcastle United 3-2 Chelsea

:D

The table's been up to date for a few days now but, like trees falling in the woods, there's nobody around to notice it without the link. In the D2D match, Boro let down Espanacas quite spectacularly. Two thirds of the 21 other participants rightly disagreed with him, but nobody plumped for the eventual 4-0 scoreline. Very one-sided game - so much for an 'intriguing' fixture! Despite that setback, he bucked the trend of having a stinker of a round by getting into double figures and being joint second highest scorer. Equal top scorer was Lawz, who gave himself a fighting chance of not finishing last by closing the gap at the bottom to 13 points. That's exactly how much now separates stunstone from TUFCfan at the right end, too. Lowest scorer shame was shared out among 4 people this time out.

Of the two home wins in the Scottish Cup, the one at Rugby Park proved more foreseeable. Turned out that Juve's win at Chievo was far more fruitful than Lazio's reverse at Genoa though. Back closer to home, a score draw at the DW was probably the easiest outcome to guess beforehand, followed by a narrow and important victory for in-form Reading at the Madejski. City's failure to beat Liverpool at the Etihad cost some players points, as did disappointing performances on the road for Swansea and (as I pointed out above) Chelsea.

This lateness is becoming a habit, so let's get straight on with the next round...
