Just got back from my test and I PASSED! :D

This means so much to me, it really does :)

Congrats! Don't listen to anyone that tells you to buy a crap car. Buy something nice that you'll love, clean and look after.

I hate the idea of having to drive - and am a firm believer in the wonder of public transport.

We are getting ready to move to Oz next year and the only downside is having to learn to drive. I really dont want to but its an absolute necessity.

I had one lesson so far - lovely instructor - orange cauderoy trousers. Will probably have another dozen and am now saving up to just do a one week intensive thing to get it out of the way.

Kook, just seen your post- Congrats. Also, I'm going to echo the advice given to me in here- DRIVE, as much as you can. I passed about 2 months ago, but until this morning I hadn't driven my car for 3 weeks and my confidence was shot to pieces. It's so important to drive every day if you can!

Gotta echo this, spend a little more ( assuming will need some motability style adapts?) and have something that isnt a bit of junk. My first car was a V reg Metro with a paper Mache floor! Never again!

PS Congrats!

Just drove the missus home for the first time, it's about a half hour drive through the country, quite a pleasant little trip. Except that the road she lives on is an absolute bastard to get out of again. T junction, on a steep uphill, with no visibility either way, on the busiest road in the town. She can get the bloody bus in future, I was sitting there for minutes waiting to get out.

Also, not driving for a while has resulted in completely losing the ability to park, it seems.

When I had to stop my lessons for 4 months I came back and could actually park better than before!
