Paid Members Tommy! Posted January 20, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted January 20, 2017 Enjoyed what I heard of Ruview 2. Can't wait to catch the end of it. Â It's mad to think how pleased I was to find that on VHS in Woolworths bargain bin at one time.

Hogan/Kidman sounds like the most unintentionally great feud in wrestling history
King Mal the Glorious
Ru-view 2 had me getting funny looks on the train to Glasgow earlier. I love the SCG episodes where they just rip apart the bads parts of wrestling like this.
Awards Moderator HarmonicGenerator Posted January 20, 2017 Awards Moderator Share Posted January 20, 2017 I've only been able to listen to the first half an hour so far but it's had me grinning from ear to ear the whole time. Great stuff.
Members SuperBacon
Right, I'm listening to Something to Wrestle With for the first time, and it's good. I don't really know much about Bruce Prichard but like listening to him. Quick question: who is Conrad? As in, where does he come from, wrestling wise? How is he connected. Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted January 21, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted January 21, 2017 Just noticed there's a Ravishing Rick Rude episode of Something To Wrestle With now. That's a big chunk of my overtime tomorrow sorted.

Paid Members herbie747 Posted January 21, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted January 21, 2017 (edited)   Right, I'm listening to Something to Wrestle With for the first time, and it's good. I don't really know much about Bruce Prichard but like listening to him. Quick question: who is Conrad? As in, where does he come from, wrestling wise? How is he connected. He used to pay wrestlers to hang out with him at his house and a few of them subsequently decided to become "friends" with him.  https://ukff.com/topic/131924-wrestling-pod-casts-radio-interviews/?p=3071000 Ha! So he basically pays to host these podcasts? He's never had anything to actually do with wrestling?   Conrad has nothing to do with wrestling - he's a long-time Observer reader from Alabama with lots of money. He runs a mortgage company. He doesn't pay to host the podcasts, nor does he get paid. But how he met Ric initially was by flying him in (and others) to hang out with him & watch wrestling & drink beer & tell stories. He'd pay wrestlers a fee for this - essentially like booking them for a show, except at his house. With just him. Then Ric became his "friend". The Flair podcast offer happened after that and Ric asked Conrad to host it.  Ric mentions it occasionally and Conrad clearly hates it, because it's obviously embarrassing to buy friends. Conrad just laughed & swiftly changed the subject when Ric broached it on the Orndorff episode. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/60352061/WO/Orndorff.MP3  In all fairness, I'd say Ric considers him a friend now, but that's basically the story of how they met. Edited January 21, 2017 by herbie747

The 97 rumble one he gives Bruce so much shit as in "No you didn't, you shouldn't have" etc  Little shitbag  Twitter praise for the Flair podcast went to his head very, very quickly. As well as the sudden "fame". I like Conrad for the most part, but he's a bit of a try-hard sometimes. He was a much better podcast host when he started - humble & respectful. Knew his role & his place.
Merzbow
So what are we saying about paid episodes? It seems like Conrad was really pushing it at the end of this latest episode.
